…my mentor said to me…

“Backup your site”

Many website owners ONLY think about securing and backing up their website data when they have been hacked or they lose all their data.

Now is the time to think about backing up your site and with Backup Buddy it backs up everything not just your database (which, unfortunately, most other plugins do).

Click here and get BackupBuddy before it’s too late:  BackupBuddy

    Hey Andrew,

I learned my lesson when it comes to backing up. I never used to back up, until one day I accidentally installed a new WordPress and as soon as I hit the install button, I realized what had happened.

So, needless to say, everything was gone, fortunately my host does automatic back up once a week and I was able to get everything back the way it was.

Now I use a similar plugin where it automatically backups everything and sends it to email once a day.

      Satrap,

      Sounds like you were lucky!

Many hosts don’t do backups or charge you for such a service.

Backiup is very important. We should be prepared for any eventuality. Even though web hosting service provider can help to some extent, it is always better to have our own arrangements. A suitable plugin will reduce your burden and it will take backup in the background automatically.

Love your Days of Christmas posts theme. With so much “same old same old” stuff online it’s refreshing to see someone taking a novel approach.

I’ve lost way too much data over the years to not backup stuff nowadays 🙂 I definitely learned the hard way.

For backing up my website, I simply use the “backups” tool from Hostagor (i.e. my hosting company). Do I need anything else or do I need a tool like BackupBuddy?

Hostgator: I noticed Andrew recommends them BTW. They have excellent customer support I must say.

      Dan,

That should be fine but just ask them – do they back up everything and how long does a restore take.

      Andrew
