You CAN Do It

just-do-itMy wife and I love going to shows – theatre, comedy events, concerts (or should I say gigs?).

We go out almost weekly.

Last night we went to see a UK comic / actor / singer called Bradley Walsh.

It was a very funny show. He entertained the audience. He flirted with the audience.

He mingled with the audience – yes he came amongst us, shook peoples hands, signed autographs, wished people happy birthday.

His singing could be a bit better but he is a versatile individual. As I say, he is first know as a comic and is now an established actor – a serious actor!

Why am I telling you this?

At the end of his show, this is what Bradley Walsh said:

“It doesn’t matter if you are thin, fat, tall, short, yellow, black or blue – you can achieve anything you want if you want it bad enough. My nose is so flat because I’ve had so many doors slammed in my face. But you get up, dust yourself down and try somewhere else. So remember folks, whatever you want to do, you CAN do it. I hope you have a wonderful summer, good night and god bless”

His little talk made me think, “Yeah, it’s true”.

You can do anything you want – if your have that burning desire and passion. And a little help and a little luck.

Luck and help are crucial.

Luck could be a simple thing like you mention what you want to achieve in passing to someone and they give you some excellent advice.

One small piece of advice from me – which was given to me by my work manager at the time – don’t be afraid to ask for advice.

You’ll be amazed how willing people are to share their expertize – if only you ask.

They will be flattered that you have asked.

You can do it – if you want it bad enough.

What advice or luck has changed your life? Please share your views in the comments below.

hey Andrew Nice post. The thing that i ever heard was ” Whether you believe you can succeed, or believe that you can’t, you are always right!” belief is 80% of success. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can or cannot do something. Go out and Make it Happen.

      James

      Nice quote and it’s true.

I like this: “Don’t let anyone tell you that you can or cannot do something.”

People are so quick to put you down or say, ‘it won’t work’.

Thanks for dropping by and commenting.

    1) Passion – without a burning desire to fulfill your dream, it’ll never happen.

    2) Work – dreaming and talking about your passion, without the work, will always keep it just a dream.

    3) Perseverance – sticking with it, through thick and thin.

    4) Not being afraid to make mistakes – if you’re not making mistakes, you’re not stretching enough and your business is probably at a crawl. Welcome mistakes and LEARN from them.

    5) Get a mentor if possible, or at the very least a supportive friend who is willing to push and encourage you.. and hold you accountable.

A few years ago my friend gave me an advice about practicing. If you find something difficult, do it everyday, and you’ll be better in it eventually.

A basic idea, but it’s truly effective and it stuck with me. I now have that principle in my life.

I quite agree with your work manager advice that says “ask for advice”, once you always ask for advice, the sky is your limit.

    Hi Andrew,
Your post is Intersting and that much true also.
I believe in “keep going on without expecting any reaction for any action”. And it is true and sure that you will see the face of success.
