It Could Be You!

Here in the UK, the TV programme, Daybreak is encouraging us to pledge to DONATE A DAY to a worthy cause.

It can be from volunteering to work in a charity shop, doing a neighbour’s shopping, to simply offering an elderly person some company.

I thought, “What a great idea”.

We all have skills, expertise and knowledge we can share.

So here’s my own version of ‘Donate A Day’:

I would like to donate a day of my blogging services to you my visitors.

What this means is I will be giving away 7 hours of my time for free.

That’s 7 slots of one hour each for 7 chosen visitors.

You can apply from now until midnight (UK time) May 30 by completing the form below. I will then pick the 7 ‘winners’ (well when I say winners I mean the ones I choose to do the work for).

Questions you may have:

Why are you doing this?

I just think it is a great idea and it is my way of saying ‘thanks’ to you for supporting my on-line business and me.

What sort of work will you do?

Basically anything that is related to a WordPress blog. It could be keyword research, install plugins, themes, customization, a mentoring chat (via Skype)…

If you want me to install any premium plugins or themes, you will have to prove you hold the license.

What sort of work will I not do?

Anything spammy, unethical…that sort of thing. I reserve the right to choose what I do and what I don’t do.

Who can apply?

Anyone!

How do I apply?

Simply complete the form below.

How will I be notified if I am one of the 7 who get the free hour?

I will contact you via email and we can agree a time when I start work. Oh and my decision of who to work with is final.

What conditions are there?

I shall work with 7 people for one hour each. No more.

I only work with WordPress.

You need to have backups in place. We must be able to get your site back to how it was in case of mistakes/errors.

What if I have other questions?

Please leave your question in the comments below.

Here’s the form to apply. Good luck!

    Your Name (required)

    Your Email (required)

What work would you like me to do. Please remember a maximum of an hour

This is a great idea for a promotion – I’m sure you will get a lot of interest from a huge number of your followers. I imagine there are a lot of part time bloggers like myself who have gotten just far enough that they’re up and running but they’re not getting the traffic they would like and/or haven’t reached their full potential, and could use some professional assistance to get them over the top. Thanks!

        John,

        We all want more traffic.

When I reached 50 visitors a day, I wanted 100. When I reached 100, I wanted 200. Etc. Having a target to reach inspires to me to sought our ways to increase the numbers.

Andrew: yes, good point. I guess saying I want more traffic is like saying I want more business from my business blog. It goes without saying. More specifically, I would like to improve my email marketing system to capture emails from readers and send out autoresponders (I’ve set it up via Mailchimp but it could use improvement). I’ve thought about purchasing the Popup Dominion plugin as well. At this point, 100 readers per day would be great.

            John,

Popup-Domination is either hated or loved by visitors. It really depends upon the niche you are in.

I believe in my niche most visitors hate pop-ups.

            In yours…who knows?

One thing I will say is that Popup-Domination is a great plugin. I know the owner. I’ve installed it for many clients and it does make a difference to their opt-in numbers.

What a fantastic idea that I must steal, er, borrow, myself to hopefully uncover some new clients. I applied, too 🙂
