When it comes to choosing someone to build your business website, you can hire one person or you can hire several specialists.
Which is better? You’ll know by the end of this article.
Let’s use home remodeling as an example.
When you decide to have a new bathroom or new kitchen, do you employ several tradesmen like plumbers, tilers, electricians or do you contact one company/person who can deal with everything?
If you are anything like me, you want things simple and would choose to work with the one company/person.
That saves you time, hassle and very often…money.
Now you might be thinking this one person cannot do everything. They cannot be an expert in plumbing and electrics and all the other trades.
That’s right…they won’t be.
And they don’t have to be.
Here’s why: although they may not be expert in all the trades required…they know the people who are.
They don’t do all the work themselves. They are the ‘go to’ person. They are the person who gives you updates on the progress of the work and you deal with them on any issue. They juggle all the specialists for you, so you don’t have to.
Now, it can be the same thing when you work with a company for your on-line needs.
For my clients, I build blogs, websites, membership sites, products, sales pages, designs, etc.
Do I do everything myself for my clients?
In most cases yes but in some… no.
I don’t do any design creation myself. I don’t have the tools…I’m not that creative. But I know several people who are experts.
My clients only need to deal with me.
By only dealing with me, I can see and manage the impact with all other areas…when the client changes their requirements.
It’s all about the service and making it easier for my clients to do business with me.
A good on-line business provider will:
- Ask lots of questions to fully and exactly know what your requirements are
- Use the best technical solution to meet your on-line business needs
- Tell you exactly what will be delivered in non-technical speak
- Provide costs
- Inform you how to make contact and be contactable
- Provide regular updates including any issues
- Deliver on-time
Don’t think you have to deal with each individual expert to meet your on-line requirements…you don’t.

Hi Andrew!
First I would like to mention that your services are top class / high quality for anyone who is interested hiring you.
I will also agree with you for the reason an online company is very difficult to be managed by your own and that’s because competition is getting higher and higher these days.
Another important fact is who to trust and who not to. I make my decisions through reading testimonials, hearing friends recommendations or searching on the web.
Research is everything in most businesses. You have to know how to search for the right people.
Thanks for sharing with us A. Have a great day!
John
Thanks, John for those nice words.
I agree…it does take time to build and show trust…especially in the internet marketing world. Best is referrals from a good friend.
Andrew
Choosing the right people to run your business along is becoming very dificult these days. As you metioned its very difficult to get trustworthy people these days to work hand in hand with. But on the other side its very difficult to run a business alone.
So before you choose your partner for your online business make sure he is trustworthy.
Thanks for sharing such a good post.
Arun
how do you suggest we make sure the person we work with is trusthworthy?
Andrew
Thanks Corinne…for your support!
Finding a good GC is the hard part!
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
I know this is a totally unrelated note, but are you aware that your social floating bar (maybe Digg Digg) is actually constantly hovering above the text in your articles making each line very hard to read?
At least that is how it appears in the latest version of firefox.
Thanks
Mikael
Mikael

Andrew

Mikael
Thanks for coming back and letting me know.

This is a good challenge for every one who wants to improve their business online Andrew. As of me, I can say that identifying the goals and aiming high to hit the target are the main focus in every aspects, especially in the field of business marketing. One of the best example of it is hiring the best website developer who can develop an effective website in the web. In choosing website developer, a website owner will going to choose one who has package with complete skills in website development. Same application also into other applications, such as business marketing, sales and many more. If I were to ask if I will choose one company to set up my business online, I will answer yes, but I will choose for the best one who could cater all my business needs. Thanks for sharing Andrew.
Deborah
And how would you choose the ‘best one who could cater all my business needs’?
Andrew
Good points. It is much easier to just hire one company/person. Thanks to that you save your TIME, which is very important. I have similar point of view – I am able to pay even little more to one person because I have time to work on my projects. Oh, and I do not have to be corresponding with dozens of people but only with one person. Again – saving my time.
I like your blog – it is clear that you know well this internet marketing stuff 🙂
Daniel
Thanks for sharing your views and I agree…time is an important factor.
Nice to hear you like my site – thanks,
Andrew
Andrew
This is exactly what I did – one person did everything for my website. They were recommended – so that helped and they did a great job.
Sean
Sean,
Having one recommended person do everthing is certainly a great approach.
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
I absolutely agree with you. Hiring multiple experts to do a job for you will not only waste your time, but your money as well. It is best that you simply hire someone that could coordinate different talents properly so that you basically deal with just one person, sort of like micromanaging.
