Building internal links from one blog post to another has many SEO advantages. I share them in the video below.

But if you have written hundreds of blog posts –  how do you remember which ones to link to?

It’s almost impossible.

This week I found a great free WordPress plugin that makes building internal links really easy.

Watch the video and see how you can start building internal links in seconds…

The plugin can be downloaded from here:

I run this on one of my blogs which has a ton of pages. I wanted to begin interlinking back through the posts but with so many pages, it was a real pain in the rear.

I forgot how I found this plugin but began testing it out. I really like how you can just search for terms and you can find your other blog post, really makes interlinking fast.

    Thanks for the share.

This is perfect. I was just writing a post today and thought I need a plugin to easily link to my other posts. I hadn’t searched for one yet and came across this post. Sweet. What would be really cool is if it could scan your posts and pull out on links even to external sites that you’ve done.

      Mike,

Perhaps if you searched with your blog name in the search field as well as the term – that might work.

Very useful and important plugin. Another plugin which I suggest is SEO smart link plugin and you can also try Simple tag plugin, that interlink tags and categories automatically.

    Dear Andrews,

sadly that plugin does not work with wordpress template 9.2 or more. I was so happy when I watched your tutorial, but in practice the plugin did not work in modern wordpress template.

    Thank you anyway.

Hello Andrew, I gave up on wordpress a while back do to problems with akismet incorrectly filtering out my online friends comments. I even contact akismet on several occasions and they claimed it had nothing to do with their filter, however when disabling the plugin their comments came through fine.
The ninja premium plugin sounds like a fine option should we ever decide to use wordpress again.

I love this plug-in. It has loads of uses – not just for backlinking. I’ve found videos and other blog posts that I can use to make blog posts happen much faster. Insight has really cut down on my online searching. Thanks for mentioning it, Andrew because I never would have found it on my own.

When creating internal linking dont forget to make sure that you only link like minded topics together to gain better overall pagerank. If you link non related topics together you dilute your pr and miss out on much better overall rankings.

    Hello Andrew!

Very good post, and very useful, too, if I may add. Especially so for people who have volumes of posts and entries in their blogs.

The way that you can hunt for link prospects from even your past post is simply amazing.

Thank you very much for this piece of information, and keep your valuable insights flowing!

    • Andrew August 16, 2010 at 5:35 pm #

      Hi John,

      Nice to see you here.

I use this plugin every time I publish a post…and here’s another neat idea…use it to update older posts to link to your newer posts!

      Andrew

      • John August 16, 2010 at 8:34 pm #

        Hello Andrew,

Yea I gather you can use this plugin that way too. Pretty nifty!

I’m not sure if You’d allow comments that are not really related to your original post, but since I already got your attention…

Would you have any advise on choosing a niche? I basically have a lot of interests, and am easily fired up by stimuli.

My main problem is actually starting. And by starting I mean choosing a niche. So are there tips or tools (I won’t say no to suggestions as well, LOL!) on researching niches?

        That’s where I get frozen… 🙁

        • Andrew August 17, 2010 at 3:06 pm #

          John,

You will hear this in many places but the best place to start researching is with your passions.

If you don’t end up blogging about your passion…it will quickly become a chore.

People go on-line to find solutions to their problems. So what problems could you solve in the niche of any of your passions?

Do some research in the forums of your passions and see what people are discussing. What problems keep coming up?

          Could you help them?

That’s a way to help you chose a niche.

          Andrew
