So this is what happened this week:
The ‘up’ times
Video Blogging
I continue to blog 6 days a week and this week I concentrated on the subject of “keyword research” as it is so important and I added new videos each day. I am beginning to like creating videos!
When I first started using video for blog posts, I wanted them to be perfect. So each time I made a mistake or simply stumbled over my words, I’d start again. It was taking hours to create a 5-minute video.
Then I thought, what the heck!
Nowadays, I plan the video and write down, at a high level, the areas I wish to cover.
If I stumble over my words, or say the wrong word, it no longer matters. Just carry on. It doesn’t have to be perfect. As long as you are getting across the main points you wanted to, then as far as I am concerned, that’s fine.
I now have 12 thousand followers, which is great and the great Yaro Starak re-tweeted my free guide, “How to make a profitable blog in 45 minutes”. Yaro re-tweeting my blog post about the upgrade certainly brought a few more sign-ups. So a big THANK YOU goes to Yaro!
Google spot number 1
What sparked off my videos this week was last Friday I achieved the number one Google spot for a keyword phrase for one of my sites, The Digital Archives.
The fact that I got to the number one spot was a huge achievement and very exciting.
The ‘Down’ Times
Although, I continued to blog everyday this week, my traffic only rose by 2.5%. Previous weeks it had grown by 20% and 15%.
I know I shouldn’t be disappointed with a 2.5% increase, I am because of the previous weeks results.
But…my aim is to have a 10% increase month on month, and comparing August with July, the traffic has grown by 11% so far (and we have 4 days left). So I should not be complaining, should I?
Having a goal to increase my traffic each month really focuses me to look for different ways to increase my traffic.
Firefox
This little nuisance called Firefox has been in the ‘down’ times and the ‘up’ times over the past few weeks.
Well, it’s back in the ‘down’ list. At least twice a day, it just takes over my PC for 15 minutes and grabs as much memory as it can. It drives me nuts!
What were your on-line “Up’s” and “down’s” this week?
