Blogging Guide : How To Write An About Page (video)

This is the fourth video in my new blogging guide series.

In this video I show you how to write one of the most important pages on your blog…your ‘About’ page.

While creating this video, I even learned something that I can add to my existing ‘About’ page.

I hope you learn something…let me know by sharing your views in the comments below.

Great video Andrew. You’re right about your About Me page being the one of the pages that brings in the most traffic.

I’m in the same boat as you and need to give my about me page a little update. Thanks

It was a bit weird doing the video…I did my research and found the pages I wanted to talk about and learned a few things on the way.

So sharing and learning at the same time. Perfect.

      Andrew

What do you recommend bloggers to put on their “About Me” page if they currently don’t have all the accolades that an experienced blogger such as Michael Dunlop?

What many aren’t aware of is how important about pages are to gaining trust and increasing conversions. When I worked every day with ecommerce stores I saw a direct correlation between improving conversions and completed sales versus abandoned shopping carts and the quality of the about page.

When following the path visitors took in analytics shoppers who visited the about page were far more likely to buy. Improving the about page by adding more information, links to reviews and especially adding photos showing the business increased conversion rates.

Many believe that seeing a photo of people in a building causes visitors to believe an online store is a “real business” instead of a possible scam.

About pages are also very important to Social Networking users like myself. They allow me to find out what is most important to a blogger so that I can select the best anchor text when writing about them and have more details to share when reviewing them on Social Media sites or recommending them to others.

One thing I’ve noticed which I may do myself is 2 pages…about me/about this site..shortens the page and is more focused on what folks may want to read; not mixing business with personal.

Does a video of about yourself works than on write ups? My curiosity arises as I am reading your post and I hope I could change mine. Thanks Andrew, you’re indeed a wizard!:)

I really need to get on the ball as well and add more photos and links to my about me page. I can honestly say that the about me page is the one page on my blog where I needed more of a sense of direction, and you’ve provided for me so thank you very much!!

Thanks for sharing. This is really helpful. About me page is now mandatory since the panda update. This is great! Keep up the good work.
