Ping lists are great! Is the one you listed just the basics? Because it seems quite short compared to the one that I currently use.

      Tom,

It’s the one that is recommended by the MaxBlogPress team. Some of the ones listed actually go on and submit to others as well.

How do ping lists work anyway? To me, they seem like a waste of time.

          • Andrew October 30, 2010 at 6:51 am #

            Henway

            A waste of time?

Takes 10 seconds and then forget it.

I believe they help get your posts indexed quicker (if used alongside other methods).

I’ve noticed some bloggers who create videos also add the transcript of the video. Perhaps I should do that as well?

Fantastic video. Pinging to site is really a good way to bring some traffic but I read some where, too much pinging may ban your link in that service. So, we have to use this smartly.

My list is quite long, I’ll review the vid and maybe shorten ot.

Video vs. text – I prefer text or both on the same article…takes more time, but pleases more readers. 😉

Andrew, this is totally new. I have never done pinging before and to be honest I never knew such a thing exists. I am glad that you choose to upload a video for the narration cause its easy to follow. Solid effort brother. I will try this on my personal blog. Finally got something to play around during this weekend.

  7. Chris April 22, 2010 at 9:34 pm #

Great blogging videos Andrew! I especially like the one on writing the about page .. not a lot of marketers talk about that. I think its one of the most important factors when a visitor decides to subscribe.

The About page can be crucial – it’s amazing how many bloggers don’t have one…then you become suspect.

I can understand that. Sometimes when someone is trying to help me and I can’t figure things out as fast I do worry about them thinking I’m not trying hard enough.
I have to say when making a post now I have that down and can do it in less then 30 minute.
Just remember your help does not fall of deaf ears, so keep putting it out there.

I’m somewhat concerned about taking this as the definitive list when Vladimir has seldom responded to the over 200 comments – several offering suggestions – and his last comment, in October 2009, was “I haven’t done it (updated) in a while, you are free to check and report back.”

  11. Biodun April 26, 2010 at 8:20 pm #

Nice video, Google loves content, so the more content on a regular basis, it then knows to visit you more frequently, to get the latest stuff. Then with good linking, then Google can navigate all your your pages easily, increasing the chances of your pages being indexed.

I always make sure that the ping list is fully up to date when I do a new blog install. This is the reason WordPress blogs get spidered so quickly by google.

Great share though a lot of people don’t know this.

Google ad sense can increase website traffic to your site. There are many SEO companies that are providing seo services to business owners to increase website traffic to their sites and their main goal is to take their websites at the top of Google search engine rank.

    • Andrew November 18, 2011 at 11:23 am #

      Sujit

Personally I think Adsense cheapens sites and many of these so-called SEO companies promise the earth and never deliver!

You should make an attractive and relevant blog for your business to gather quality web traffic to your site. Your content should be unique and it should have quality keywords. Simple and easy to read blog can drive huge traffic to your website. A user-friendly blog can increase website traffic to your website.

One of my biggest mistake which i made in my blogging routine was that i didn’t payed much attention on daily or weekly updating of my blog which i learned after a huge loss of traffic. so one simple and straight forward thing which i have learned is that you can increase the number of visitors on your blog to many times more than the existing rate if you are consistent in updating your site on regular or weekly basis
    Thanks 🙂

First I would like to thank you for your fantastic videos. People prefer to listen and watch rather than reading.

I’m not an expert in SEO but I know upto some level as many. I have a personal blog as well as a business website. I started doing SEO and could get some visitors within few months. One of my friends asked me to change the host from Shared Hosting to VPS Hosting or Dedicated Hosting. The reason was, Shared hosting is limited and can’t manage a huge traffic. I I bought a VPS (from VPSWEBSERVER) and moved my website and blog.

What I’m trying to say it, people do not consider about these things. We all talking about SEO and Traffic. But when we have a huge traffic we don’t know how to manage it.

Andrew, I’m not good in videos and speaking, why don’t you do a video? About “VPS or Dedicated Servers to increase the Traffic”

    • Andrew October 1, 2012 at 4:34 am #

      Irosh

You only need to upgrade to a dedicated server, once you get to a high amount of traffic. Having a dedicated server will not really gain you more traffic.
