This week I’ve been getting to grips with Jimmy’s 7 different types of blog posts to write.

I feel like a person who has been working the same way for years and suddenly someone comes along and says, “I want you to change”.

“I want you to do this from now on”.

You suddenly move from being able to do something easily to you don’t know what you are doing.

A few years back, I used to deliver Personal Development training and there are 4 stages of development:

1.    Unconscious incompetence
2.    Conscious incompetence
3.    Conscious competence
4.    Unconscious competence

When you start out learning a new skill, let’s say public speaking, you may think it’s going to be easy (and for some it is – the lucky so and so’s!). You just don’t what is required to start mastering public speaking.

But you stumble over your words, forget what to say and simply don’t know what to do with your arms.

Welcome to the unconscious incompetence stage of skill development.

You persevere, you carry on learning and you quickly move to the “conscious incompetence” stage.

At this stage, you are now aware of the public speaking skills you lack and you are determined to learn more. You know you have to concentrate on the planning, preparation and delivery, for example.

With learning and practise you eventually move to the consciously competent stage of skill development. At this stage, you can prepare, confidently give a good speech and, maybe, are no longer concerned about the Q&A session. But it’s still hard work. It still takes a lot of effort and at the end of the presentation, you are glad it’s over.

But then, after more practice, more time, you can just get up and start talking in front of hundreds of people with no concerns, no worries and no fear.

You have now entered the “unconscious competence” stage and you feel magnificent!

So where am I when it comes to writing blog posts, using some of Jimmy’s styles?

Conscious incompetent.

I know what I have to do to get better and it takes practice.

So bear with me, while I go through this stage, PLEASE!

This week, week 5 is the last stage in the “set-up” of my affiliate marketing strategy.

And it is this week, I create my new ‘giveaway’.

And next week is about promotion and driving traffic. It’s getting exciting!
