Traffic

Using a month on month comparison, my traffic grew by 15% between July and August. I’ve set myself a monthly increase target of 10%, so achieving 15% is cool.

Problem is now, getting 10% month on month when the actual is 15% makes it a little bit harder. But you must have stretching targets, mustn’t you?

Improve your SEO with a link building campaign

Today, I received my monthly report from Angela’s Backlinks detailing another 30 sites to build more backlinks to my sites.  Within the report this month there are:

Video Blogging

I continue to blog 6 days a week and this week I concentrated on the subject of “keyword research” as it is so important and I added new videos each day. I am beginning to like creating videos!

When I first started using video for blog posts, I wanted them to be perfect. So each time I made a mistake or simply stumbled over my words, I’d start again. It was taking hours to create a 5-minute video.

Then I thought, what the heck!

Use keyword optimization to get on the first page of Google

Last Friday, I experienced something new.

For one of my sites, www.thedigitalarchives.com for a particular phrase I was targeting, I hit the number one spot in Google.

When I start a new blog or create a new product, I target 6 keywords.

Why six?

That’s what the traffic getting guru, Jeff Johnson recommends. So, I followed suit.

Jeff actually recommends 6 – 8, and I start with 6.

So how do you decide what six keyword phrases you are going to target?

And which one should be your primary keyword? i.e. the keyword that you think is the best out of the six.

The new Google search engine – Google Caffeine

Heard the news about the new Google search engine, called Google Caffeine?

This is what Google announced recently:

“For the last several months, a large team of Googlers has been working on a secret project: a next-generation architecture for Google’s web search. It’s the first step in a process that will let us push the envelope on size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness and other dimensions. The new infrastructure sits “under the hood” of Google’s search engine, which means that most users won’t notice a difference in search results. But web developers and power searchers might notice a few differences, so we’re opening up a web developer preview to collect feedback.”
