This is the fifth post in the new blog expert series called: Successful Corporate Blogs and we talk about a technique that many people ignore.
Many internet marketers discuss ways of building loyal fans. That is improtant I agree but…if you want to build a bigger income…you need to build loyal relationships.
I truely believe successful Internet marketing is not only about building strong relationships with potential customers (i.e. loyal fans), it’s also about building relationships with other people within your niche.

If you are a regular reader you’ll know I have been de-cluttering my life. Over the past few months I have given / thrown away and sold so many things…I really don’t know where I kept it all.
And I made approx. $500 just by selling a few things that I no longer wanted or needed, on eBay.
If you are really interested in what I have decided to remove from my life go here:
Clutter Can Hold You And Your Business Back
I believe having loads of ‘clutter’ in your life…slows you down and can be very distracting.
I’m still decluttering and am thoroughly enjoying myself.
Over the weekend I went through my pile of CD’s that I have collected over years. These CD’s are PC related. So software, drivers, games, upgrades…that sort of thing.
Even if I say so myself, I have kept some rubbish.
Thing is, you load the software and safely store the CD away. Years later the software is out of date but you’ve kept the CD!
No longer!
I dumped all the ones I no longer need.
The photo is a bit dark but trust me…there are about 20 CD’s in that picture.
Here in the UK, we’re just passing the longest day of the year already, and it seems like only a few weeks since the winter passed and spring arrived.
One of the best parts of the warmer weather is that you can get out in the garden and see to all of the jobs that you wouldn’t do in winter, like planting up pots and baskets, clearing the flowerbeds and mowing the lawn.
I was out in the garden the other day having a tidy up, and it struck me just how similar gardening and blogging actually are.
In my teens I loved disco music (I still do!) and most weekends I would be dancing to the tunes of Heatwave, Rose Royce, Earth Wind & Fire…
30 Years Later…
My wife and I have been dancing together now for almost 3 years…The Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Cha-Cha-Cha, Foxtrot, Rumba and Jive.
Last week we were learning a complex part (well we thought it was complex!) of the Waltz. We just couldn’t get the move right. We did struggle.
We asked the dance instructor and she wasn’t that helpful – or so we thought.
When I interviewed Rebecca Thorman (Creator and Owner of http://kontrary.com/ ) for The Great Successful People Package we chatted as if we had known each other for years.
In fact, it was the first time we had spoken and she loved my accent!
The interview was great and time flew by. Rebecca shared her knowledge on such subjects as finding your strengths, writing skills, building relationships, making that jump from college to work, blogging.
Hear something new…

Prince William and Kate Middleton get married today…so here in the UK there is much love in the air.
Many people get excited with a Royal wedding and Prince William and Kate Middleton are very much in love. I wish them all the best.
It got me thinking about the things I love (in no particular order except the first 2!):
1. My wife
2. My children
3. My family (well most of them!)
4. Sunshine
5. Seeing other parts of the world
6. Snow
7. People smiling
Almost a third of 2011 has passed and I have one question for you:
Have you achieved everything you had planned to (so far)?
In the vast majority of cases, the answer will be “NO!”
So, as a small business blogger, you know what you want and you have all these good intentions, right?
Update your blog, get a new theme, write a blog post, create your first product, start a joint venture…
Perhaps even more personal like…lose weight, gain weight, stop smoking, start exercising, get a new job, earn more, find a partner…

In memory of Sam Rondeau
I’d like to take you back 4 years when our Border Collie dog Sam was still with us.
Sam was a very intelligent, smart and active dog. He was a real live wire!
Here is Sam’s last year in his words.
What can you learn?
Hi, I’m Sam, I am 12 now, and you know what the best thing in life is?
Playing with my ball. I just love it – fetching, catching, dropping – I just don’t know when to stop. Oh and sometimes I can’t move the next day due to my aching muscles.
When working as a manager in the corporate world I was often asked by my staff, “what do you do all day?”
They saw me coming in to the office early. They saw me leave the office late. I was often not at my desk.
So I can understand the question.
Now I have left the corporate world and I run my own small business I now get asked the same question by friends.
So I thought what I would do is simply make a note of what I do whie running my small business.
Ahhh…the memories of working for corporate companies!
Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock…
Right. No time for hanging around today.
Lots to do, so let’s get organized.
First things first.
Make a list.
Now where’s my note pad. I know I left it here somewhere.
Isn’t it amazing how things just disappear around here?
I can’t find it. This little scrap of paper will do.
Right, my list.
Number 1.
I must do that costing for Jenny.
Number 2.
Call John about the sales meeting.
Number 3.
My earliest memory of wanting to be fit was after reading a Charles Atlas advert in the back of a comic or boy’s magazine thing. This must have been in the late 1960s.
From memory, there was a skinny guy on the beach (like me!) and some big guy who kicked sand in his face and laughed.
Of course, the skinny guy could do nothing. Then he signed up with the Charles Atlas “I can make you a man” programme. Seven days later, the once skinny guy was now muscle bound. He tracked down the big guy and punched him in the face. He was now the BIG hero who the girls admired.
