Working From Home: The Pros and Cons

working from homeAs some of you know, I’ve been working from home for a while now.

When I think back to my days in the corporate environment, I’m amazed that I used to do it at all. Driving all over the UK, 14 hour days, week after week away from home…

Working from home means my life now is a lovely combination of spending time with my family and working.

However, for many people making the jump to working from home for the first time, there are a number of things to consider before taking the plunge. I thought I’d draft some of these down in the hope that sharing my own experiences may be useful for the new blog businessperson…

“Nice Post”

commenting on blogsOver the New Year I’ve been so busy with the Income Blogging Guide Membership Course launch I’ve not written any ‘reflecting’ or ‘looking forward’ type blog posts.

You know the sort of ones where you talk about your mistakes and success in 2009 and what you hope to achieve in 2010.

I will get around to writing such blog posts because 2009 was a life changing year for me and I am hoping for a great 2010.

But today I want to discuss ‘comments’.

How to Write Blog Posts – a round up of the best advice

How to Write Blog PostsI know that sometimes it’s really hard to write articles that grab reader’s attention and generate more traffic at the same time. Online users would become frequent visitors if they see that your site contains useful and important information.

It’s even harder to get people to comment!

This week I had a guest post accepted over at my blogging buddy, Case Stevens blog, Affordable Internet Marketing.

My blog post is entitled, “How Do I Get People To Read And Comment On My Blog?” and so far it has attracted a much higher percentage of comments compared to RSS subscribers than Darren Rowse and Yaro Starak.

The ‘up’ times

Outsourcing

I decided to employ someone and ‘outsource’ some of the administrative and everyday tasks associated with my online business.

I was spending so much time doing all the things you have to do to keep several sites up and running, that I was finding no time to create any more of my own products.

So, this week I have been handing over work to my new employee.

I’ve been creating videos to help her quickly come up to speed and I must say, the early stages in the ‘partnership’ are turning out pretty well.

We all have good experiences, days, weeks, times – whatever we wish to call them

And we have bad times, don’t we?

During my working week, I experience both and rather than just sharing theory, knowledge and advice, I thought I’d make a change and share with you my good and bad ‘working’ times I have experienced this week.

But rather than good and bad, I’m going to call then my ‘up’ times and my ‘down’ times!

Why?
