Am I being Scammed Again?

Some of you know I manage an article directory type website called www.GreatManagement.org.

It is a website that holds hundreds of articles covering the subjects of Management and self-development from a number of different authors including myself.

When I first set-up the site, my mentor at the time suggest I ‘go live’ with at least 200 articles. This was to give a good first impression to visitors.

My mentor could supply them for me (for a fee).

He did and I published them all with a link back to the original source.

Scammed By A Customer?

liarI was accused of lying by one of my “customers” yesterday.

At 10.49 pm someone purchased my public speaking course, Get Applause Now.

The whole course consists of:

5 audios

4 pdf’s

That’s quite a lot to download and would take several minutes.

At 10.51 pm, I had an email from the purchaser saying:
“Hello, i’m NOT happy at all with the getapplausenow product !!! Please refund my credit card as you lie to me.”

Yes, the email was written using that size font!

Standout Comments: Dumped

dumped

As some of you know I purchased and installed the WordPress plugin, Standout Comments last week. It took a couple of hours to set-up as it covers so many different areas which I liked – hence the reason I purchased it.

It also allowed me to deactivate 4 other plugins.

But it has a few bugs including a ‘really annoying’ one:

Not allowing commenters to unsubscribe from receiving the ‘follow-up comments’ email.

Commenters would get the email but they couldn’t unsubscribe. There was no link within the email.

Sorry: I Am Not Replying To Comments (Temporarily)

sorry

sorry!

I am ‘playing’ with a new plugin called Standout Comments.

At the moment there seems to be a bug if you subscribe to comments after commenting.

You receive the emails telling you there is a new comment but there is no unsubscribe link.

This is a right nuisance and I have stopped replying to some comments because I didn’t want to inundate your email inbox – especially as you cannot unsubscribe.

I am awaiting the Standout Comments support team to respond…meanwhile I am very sorry.

I will catch up once the bug has been resolved.

Our First Live Blogging Teleconference

teleconfLast night Joel and I facilitated our first live teleconference as part of the support for the Income Blogging Guide delegates.

We used https://www.hidefconferencing.com/ for the teleconference service.

With this service, as moderator, you can mute all other callers. They can request to speak through a “hand-raising” feature, and you can mute and un-mute individuals online. It’s real simple.

Last week we tested it and all worked fine.

We sent out the invite email to all the membership sign-ups.

Yesterday, we tested it again. Being our first one, we wanted everything to go well.

How To Build a List That Actually Opens Your Emails

open emailsIf you’ve been marketing for long and hard enough, you are probably aware of the fact that money is in the list.

But what I learned from a devastating experience is that money is in a responsive list. A list that actually opens and reads your emails. A list that responds to your calls to action.

Real money is made of a list that is receptive of your marketing. If you mail 2000 people and only 100 of them respond, that’s only 5%. 95% of your potential revenue is wasted.

blogging guide contest

The contest is now closed.

Thanks to everyone who entered the contest.

Joel and I have picked the TWO winners using the tool http://www.random.org/ and I have written to both of them.

One has confirmed and he is a guy called Tim Cooke. Well done Tim!

If the second winner doesn’t claim their prize within 48 hours. I shall pick another name using the same tool.

On 6th January 2010, Joel Williams (www.BlogTechGuy.com fame) and I will be launching our brand new Income Blogging Guide Course and to celebrate we are holding a free contest.

Thank YOU for all YOUR support

thank youSince I started this blog back in March, I’ve had a target to increase the number of visitors that comes to this site by 10% each month.

I am pleased to say that the actual percentage I achieve has been on average 14% for every month.

Thank YOU for coming over and dropping by.

Thank YOU for commenting.

Thank YOU for Tweeting and Digging and all that other social bookmarking malarkey.

I only wish you could Stumble (this site is banned – click on this link and see my Banned by StumbleUpon post).

Increase traffic and backlinks with this free tool

increase trafficLeaving comments on high profile and popular blogs is no secret to getting more traffic and backlinks to your own blog.

However there is one issue…

Very often, especially on those very popular blogs, by the time you get to comment you could be the 30th or 100th person to comment.

You still get the backlink (assuming they ‘do follow’) but you won’t get any traffic. Who reads all 50 comments?

Not many.

Myself, I tend to read the first 5 or 6 and that’s it.

Do you know what you are recommending?

album absolute garbageIt’s no secret I make money by recommending and selling other peoples products as an affiliate.

I try to be as open as possible about that fact and I actually have an “Affiliate Disclosure” page.

But I do have one strict rule. I only recommend products I have tried out and gained something from, myself.

Not too long ago I received an email from someone who invited me to partake in a joint venture for a product that was converting at 12.5%.

The email went on to say:

The difference between blogging success and failure

There are a lot of people in the world who are looking for the “money making silver bullet”.

They want the money:

1. To be a lot

2. To come easy

3. For doing literally nothing

4. For no outlay

Now we are all used to seeing the adverts with headlines like,

“I was just a bum. In fact I still am but nowadays I make $10,000 a day for doing diddley squat. I’ll show you how to do the same.”

And you know why those sorts of adverts are still being written today?

Affiliate Marketing Strategy end of week 3

Links to previous weeks posts can be found at the bottom of this post.

Week 3 of Jimmy’s Affiliatenaire is all about setting up your autoresponder system, so when people sign-up for their “freebie”, they automatically receive a ‘welcome’ email from you.

I have completed this process numerous times over the years but if you never have then Jimmy provides step-by-step procedures including several videos showing you exactly how.

He also explains the crucial part of the ‘confirmation’ page, which people get directed to, once they sign-up.
