This is the fourth post in the new blog expert series called: Successful Corporate Blogs and we talk about a technique that many people are scared to take on board!

You see…it’s no good being a mouse online…you won’t be heard.

Being bold, brash and unique and even controversial will get you noticed.

To get your message across loud and clear means having confidence in yourself and your products.

Millions of people are online searching for answers to their questions and problems. Somebody is looking for a solution to a problem that you may have the answer to, but how do you find each other?

Internet Marketing Is Easy When You Use This Technique Part 2

This is the third post in the new blog expert series called: Successful Corporate Blogs and we talk about a technique that many people DO EXPLOIT…for the wrong reasons!

If you’ve had the misfortune to purchase one of the wrong “guru” courses, the words “easy” and “fast” are thrown around a lot.

“Get to the top of Google in a nanosecond”

“Make a million in a day”

…and blah, blah, blah.

Unless you are incredibly lucky and talented, and have a lot of money to invest in marketing campaigns, it’s not going to happen.

Successful Corporate Blogs: Are You Really Writing For YOUR Audience?

successful corporate blogs1

We’re off…the first post in the new blog series called: Successful Corporate Blogs.

And this first one is about writing for your audience.

Remember the old saying, “If you throw enough mud at the wall some of it will stick”?

If you’re an amateur plasterer that may work quite effectively but if you’re an internet marketer it won’t work – you have to choose your walls very carefully.

What I’m saying here is if you aim your marketing at receptive people who are interested in your products your efforts will stick – and a lot more effectively.

Today (or on the day it happened – just depends upon when you read this), you will see thousands of bloggers writing about the death of Steve Jobs. Many because they want to and many because they think that by writing about his death, they will get more blog traffic.

And for many their blog traffic will increase.

And many of us will remember exactly where we were when we first heard the dreadful news.

Just like…

Where were you, when John Lennon was shot by Mark Chapman?

Though search traffic is highly targeted and cost-effective, there are other options that should also be considered in web promotion. The following are strategies you can use to generate targeted and profitable web traffic.

Blogging

There are numerous reasons why you should use a blog for building an online audience. First, it is an ideal way of putting a face to your message. Secondly, it enables you to reach the market instantly with your message. Blog services such as Technorati can offer great traffic. Remember to be a valuable and active commenter in the blogs of leading influencers in your niche.

Do This and Get More Customers

customer communication1

Have you been practicing your communication skills today?

Have you spent a good proportion of your day answering e-mails, calling people up, responding to blog comments and posting up comments of your own?

If the answer is no, it could be that you’ve become caught up in your business, wondering about how to enhance your products or services instead of keeping your customers happy.

The Fundamental Trait

While both sides of running an online business are important, communication is fundamental.

Without it, our customers begin to feel unloved, and you run the risk of them drifting away to another, more friendly, service provider.

WordPress 3.2: You Ready?

The WordPress guys are busily working away on the next version, 3.2. Many blog owners are excited and it is expected to be available by the end of June 2011. Some will download and install the second it is available BUT…

With this new version there are some fundamental changes not just in look and feel but from a technical point as well. Your hosting company has to be ready.

The major change here is that WordPress 3.2 will require PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0 at a minimum.

How do you know if your hosting company provides such technology?

It Could Be You!

Here in the UK, the TV programme, Daybreak is encouraging us to pledge to DONATE A DAY to a worthy cause.

It can be from volunteering to work in a charity shop, doing a neighbour’s shopping, to simply offering an elderly person some company.

I thought, “What a great idea”.

We all have skills, expertise and knowledge we can share.

So here’s my own version of ‘Donate A Day’:

I would like to donate a day of my blogging services to you my visitors.

The Pages Google Wants To See On Your Blog

google pagesWe all have our own ways of setting up our blog.

Some have the blog posts listed on the home page, some have a static page.

Some of us list our services…some of us have an about page (which I thoroughly recommend you do have).

But other than your blog posts, the most important pages are as follows. Google expects to see and will give your blog extra credence if they are found.

Privacy

This is the page where you tell your visitor what you do with any data they give you.
