First off, at my last count, there are over 40,000 new blogs that are being started daily around the world. That is a staggering amount of competition as a Blogger and those that stand out have great credibility and authority in running their blog within their given niche.
So, how do you compete with this staggering statistic and stay competitive gaining your market share of readers?

Last time in this Blog Expert Series, we explored how to find your niche market and what people want to help you run a successful blogging business.
The next thing in the blog expert series to consider is what unique qualities you can bring to your site, which will set you apart from your competitors.
Even if you are operating within a popular area, it doesn’t mean that you can’t differentiate your product and business from the many others out there currently in operation.
Over the past few months, I’ve noticed a number of people contacting me asking for support in certain areas of blogging and running their small business online.
This has prompted me to run a series of blog expert posts answering their queries.
The blog expert series of posts will all be focused upon finding your niche market and sticking to it, to support new, existing and bored bloggers to land upon their ideal subject for blogging, and develop the perfect products to make a profit online.
A little while ago I wrote a blog post about how to get your blog moaning with pleasure.
As a result of the blog post, a regular commenter here and a good blogging buddy, Dennis Edell from Direct Sales Marketing recommended I add a page listing my guest posts. i.e. having links to the guest posts I have had published.
Well I have finally got around to setting this up and I have crossed it off my list.
Some of my best writing has been published on other blogs and this is a great way to tell my readers – so thank YOU Dennis.
With so many blogs out there, I often find myself getting caught up in trying to work out which ones are the best to comment and guest post on, to get my own blog ranking and profile up.
From a personal perspective, I usually choose to comment or guest post on blogs that I like, that are well-written, and that provide informative material close to my own industry.
The thing is, it can be a challenge to pick out the best sites to either comment on or guest blog for, as there are so many available to choose from.
One of the biggest challenges any blogger will face is getting traffic. With so much competition out there, it can be hard to make your blog stand out.
You will therefore have to promote it in order to get some traffic. Not all promotional techniques are equal, however, so you need to determine what works the best for you.
Your goal is to receive as much quality, targeted traffic as possible.
Here is a list of the ultimate ways to promote your blog:

There are a lot of reasons why website owners sell their blogs.
One of these reasons is that they may not have enough time to care for their blogs as before.
Or they have new projects that are more promising than the blog itself.
Or it’s just not working out as expect.
Or for just the simple reason that they just want to sell it.
Now, you may be planning on selling your blog but you don’t know how?
Here are a collection of blog posts that tell us how and where to sell a blog.
Can you remember a time before blogging?
Although it seems that the weblog has become as much as part of our lives as newspapers, they’ve only been around since 1994.
Before blogging became popular, digital communities took many forms, including Usenet, commercial online services such as GEnie, BiX and the early CompuServe, e-mail lists and Bulletin Board Systems (BBS).
In the 1990s, Internet forum software transformed the net by creating running conversations with ’threads’.
The first blog…
Each day I receive several emails asking for advice or helping people out with their blogs.
I always do my best to respond. A quick few minutes here and there out of my day is no big deal.
But why is it after I respond…
…they very rarely reply back and say thank you.
I suppose it could be they don’t like my advice.
Or they don’t receive my response.
Or perhaps they are far too busy! (Obviously not busy enough to ask for some advice in the first place!).
What’s your favorite food?
Chocolate?
Chips?
McD’s?
Whatever it is, when you eat it, it gives you pleasure, right?
Now what about your blog?
What is your blog’s favorite food?
Visitors?
Backlinks?
Comments?
And one way to get your blog moaning with pleasure by providing more visitors, more backlinks and even more comments is via guest posting.
Now I’m not going to write another blog post about the benefits of guest posting.

One of the beauties about blogging is that it works for you even while you sleep.
You know that when you go to bed at night, your loyal blog will stay awake, attracting potential customers and dancing its way through the search engines introducing itself to people.
This is great for obvious reasons, but we also know that a blog won’t look after itself.
The best blogs are tended to full-time by passionate people who understand that there is no such thing as a free ride. Creating a blog and then walking away from it is pointless.
