This interview is with Pawan Agarwal, the owner of www.MaxBlogPress.com.
Whenever I build a new blog for myself or for clients I ALWAYS install several of Pawan’s free WordPress plugins including:
MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer – can save your wordpress blog from getting tagged as ping spammer
Max Banner Ads – easily rotates banners to overcome ‘screen blindness’
Today, let’s talk about how to get more people to follow your blog.
I won’t do the talking though. Instead, I’ll use this outstanding guest post by Tom Walker.
(If you want to guest post on this blog, check out the guidelines here)
When you’re looking for ways to increase your blog’s following, sometimes you have to think outside the box.
There are so many blogs out there that it can be difficult to find new and interesting ways to keep your readership coming back to your site.
My blog has 7670 backlinks as stated in my blog post Blogging Guide Blog Is One Year Old and since then I’ve had a number of personal emails asking me how I get backlinks.
By the way, today the number of backlinks is 7790.
In this post I share 11 methods I use but first…what is a backlink:
Simply put, a backlink is a link on a website (including blogs) that leads back to your website / blog.
I’ve had a Facebook page for a few years now but never really used it for marketing.
This week I decided to create a Facebook fan-page and I noticed there were so many applications which can be used to enhance your Facebook sites.
It’s a bit like WordPress plugins. We use plugins to enhance our blogs and with Facebook you use applications.
Facebook applications can make your page more lively, attractive, entertaining and engaging.
Facebook applications can help get you more friends and fans and help keep them coming back for more.
The ideas in this article are not new and they have been shared by numerous other blogs and bloggers.
So why am I repeating the same advice?
Because so many bloggers simply miss or don’t carry out these simple tasks.
Many bloggers think they can make a blog and traffic will come instantly. They don’t realize it takes a lot of effort to get traffic.
But it can also act as a reminder for experienced bloggers, as well.
Getting traffic is a challenge that everyone faces as even the most popular bloggers experience a decrease in viewers every now and then.
Every now and then I am asked if I allow guest posts on my site.
And the answer is: YES.
I accept blog posts related to blogging and Internet Marketing in general. Blog posts sharing advice, tips, lists or simply your experiences are all accepted.
However before being accepted there are a few simple guidelines.
1. Your post must be a minimum of 400 words.
2. Your post must be unique, original and not be published anywhere else on the Internet
If you’ve been marketing for long and hard enough, you are probably aware of the fact that money is in the list.
But what I learned from a devastating experience is that money is in a responsive list. A list that actually opens and reads your emails. A list that responds to your calls to action.
Real money is made of a list that is receptive of your marketing. If you mail 2000 people and only 100 of them respond, that’s only 5%. 95% of your potential revenue is wasted.
