…my mentor said to me…
“Make sure you publish the best blog posts you possibly can…”
Everyone goes on and on about content and how great it has to be.
Why?
Because it’s true.
If you provide content that your visitors are looking for…they will stay on your site longer (and they will return).
If you struggle with writing blog post here are some great resources that can help:

The versatility of today’s phones has made them an integral part of most of our lives. Smartphones users are on their way to making up over half of the cellphone population.
Their versatility has helped many users save time and keep up to date with the latest news while on the go.

Today (or on the day it happened – just depends upon when you read this), you will see thousands of bloggers writing about the death of Steve Jobs. Many because they want to and many because they think that by writing about his death, they will get more blog traffic.
And for many their blog traffic will increase.
And many of us will remember exactly where we were when we first heard the dreadful news.
Just like…
Where were you, when John Lennon was shot by Mark Chapman?
More and more bloggers are offering to interview fellow bloggers. Here’s a video blog post of me being interviewed.
Why?
Well…it can bring you more traffic.
Think about it…the interviewer and the interviewee are both going to promote it. That means you could both be exposed to each others regular visitors.
But interviewing is not easy. You have to put in a lot of preparation.
Interviews are as nerve-wracking for the person conducting the questioning as the person being interviewed. In any interview scenario, there are always two people on show simultaneously, and both can be either judged or praised for their performance.

Almost a third of 2011 has passed and I have one question for you:
Have you achieved everything you had planned to (so far)?
In the vast majority of cases, the answer will be “NO!”
So, as a small business blogger, you know what you want and you have all these good intentions, right?
Update your blog, get a new theme, write a blog post, create your first product, start a joint venture…
Perhaps even more personal like…lose weight, gain weight, stop smoking, start exercising, get a new job, earn more, find a partner…
If you had to pick one trait that makes a small business owner successful, what would it be?
Remember just one!
Hard isn’t it?
I’ve written about the traits of Calmness, Creativity, Clear thinking, communication, Confidence and Change.
All very important traits but if I had to choose one it would be CHANGE.
If you got 15 people in a room and asked that question…I’d bet you’d get 15 different answers.
Well that was the question Timo Kiander owner of http://www.timokiander.com asked me and 14 other bloggers.
And guess what…there were 15 different answers.
From day one we are told to build a list because the money is in the list. So as small business bloggers we quickly create some sort of free giveaway in return for our visitors e-mail.
Then we think we’ve got them.
We think we have the right to bombard our list with recommendations to buy products whether via an affiliate link or our own.
We think, “We’ve given them something for free they should now buy from us”.
But it doesn’t work like that.
Giving something away for free is no longer unique or different… it’s the norm.

We realize, when it comes to blogging people need a helping hand – they need someone to walk them along the blogging path.
In the Income Blogging Guide Course, we have people from all over the world.
It’s a wonderful feeling when someone writes to you and they ask if they can publish a guest blog post on your site.
Why do I say that?
There are a number of reasons:
1. It means I have a break from having to create a blog post myself
2. I and my readers get to find out about a new blogger and a different perspective on the subject of the blog post
3. The guest blogger hopefully gets some new visitors to this site
4. The guest blogger gets some link love from my site and I feel I’m helping them
When working as a manager in the corporate world I was often asked by my staff, “what do you do all day?”
They saw me coming in to the office early. They saw me leave the office late. I was often not at my desk.
So I can understand the question.
Now I have left the corporate world and I run my own small business I now get asked the same question by friends.
So I thought what I would do is simply make a note of what I do whie running my small business.

You probably don’t realize it, but we’re at war! It’s an online struggle for readers. In this fight for survival, it’s only their clicks that save you. So, the goal is to grab these clicks before the other guy does. You’ve got to get their mouse-clicking fingers itching, and this is exactly what internet marketers know all about. But bloggers are missing the point and the battle’s not playing out well.
