“Just do it…”
These are a couple of simple phrases that motivate and take you closer to your goals and dreams.
Or are they?
I believe on their own they are USELESS.
You see, it’s not just about taking action.
It’s about taking the right action.
So many of us are taking action and getting no where…and that may include YOU!
IMPORTANT: Re-read that last statement again and DON’T take it personally! I know it is a generic statement but it’s true for many of us.
You see, most of us are hard working and we feel we are taking action but we are taking the WRONG action.
And the wrong action can take us away from our goals and dreams.
Let me paint a simple scenario that most of us have experienced…
You purchase an information product that promises success. That success could be more income, losing weight, having beautiful hair…
The type of information product doesn’t matter…these are just examples.
Some people (the minority) take certain action and do make more income, do lose a few pounds or having even more beautiful hair but the majority don’t.
The majority don’t because they don’t take the right action.
They take the information product they have purchased and read or view it or listen to it. Some class that as taking action and well, I suppose it is.
Some will think, “I’ve tried it all before and it doesn’t work”. Others will think, “I’m not doing that” and others, “That’s too much hard work”.
Then in their email inbox will be an ad for the latest ‘fad’. The latest super-doper product that will ‘blow your mind’.
THIS ONE REALLY WORKS!
Some buy this product as well and they start the same old action again…
…the same action that gets them no where.
Suddenly they feel overwhelmed.
Overwhelmed with the amount of offers for quick improvements and they don’t know which way to turn or where to start.
But they are hard working…they take action and they wonder why they are getting no where fast.
Taking The Right Action
Create a to-do list from the information product you have purchased (or received for free), as you study it.
And from that to-do list add the specific action to your daily, weekly and monthly routine.
For instance, one idea suggested to lose weight in the information product could be to walk 5,000 steps each day. A pedometer is recommended.
Correct action 1: Get a pedometer and weigh yourself.
Correct action 2: As you get up in the morning, wear it. Start monitoring the number of steps you take
Correct action 3: You find you are completing 3,000 steps in your normal daily routine. So, each day you decide to walk around the block to make the number of steps you complete, 5000.
Correct action 4: Continue with correct action number 3 for 2 weeks
And so on.
It sounds simple doesn’t it?
And that’s because it is.
A lot of people will think that won’t work because it is too simple.
WRONG!
Simple is best. Try it.
I know this post may upset a few of you who think you are taking action…tell me what you think.

I happened to stumble upon Andrew's website (WeBuildYourBlog.com) while searching for blogging services that would help me start my very own blog. I was a total newbie when it came to the blogging world. Fast forward 3 months and not only do I have my own awesome blog, but friends and family are actually asking me how to start their own blog and I am able to set their blogs up for them! In only 3 months under Andrew's guidance I went from total newbie to being sought after. Thanks Andrew!
The end result is a fantastic site that is attracting a lot more attention and visitors than my old one.
I am very happy to provide a testimonial for Andrew Rondeau. All the parts of the process of working with Andrew were a pleasure. He clarified what I was wanting and he delivered it without fuss. He was courteous and prompt in all his dealings with me. I have no hesitation in recommending Andrew to anyone who wants work done on their blog.
I wanted a stylish website that presented my original abstract art in a visually attractive way. Andrew came highly recommended to me as a "no nonsense" practitioner. He does exactly what he says he will do: I give him the parameters to work within and he provides a quick and precise service. You will receive nothing but the best from Andrew!
Having worked with Andrew on and off over the last year, I have found him to be very patient, helpful and easy to work with. He is also very knowledgeable, supportive and a true expert.
Andrew is highly knowledgeable about blogs, and you can get your blog up and running successfully and fast. Andrew has helped me immeasurably with my blog and he is patient and good natured and a wonderful teacher.
I have been online since 1996 and in that time I have been involved in the development of almost 400 web sites for my clients. I have worked with a wide variety of vendors and I have to tell you that Andrew @ We Build Your Blog has far exceeded my expectations. In addition to his vast knowledge and expertise, he is a genuinely great guy, who always goes the extra mile. I highly recommend him, in fact I only recommend him now for web development.
Thank you Andrew for your patience in getting my website and on-line courses on-line and selling. You were fantastic in learning the delivery platform software that I had chosen and you were across the complexities quickly. Your detailed approach in setting guidelines and deliverables bought my focus back to where it should be and got the job done. Thank you for all your efforts it was a pleasure.
Andrew has extensive knowledge about internet marketing, SEO and building web sites/blogs. His course explained everything in an easy to understand way and I now have a web site that is generating me new clients and producing income from internet product sales.
I was impressed with the excellent service.
I was introduced to Andrew by a dear friend Corinne Edwards and Andrew as transformed by blog in ways that have reaped results. My membership has gone up and my blog always looks clean and easy to read. Whenever I send Andrew a request to check out - it's ALWAYS prompt and easy to understand. In my humble opinion he is the BEST when it comes to knowledge of the blogging world.
Andrew is the real deal and he knows his stuff! His customer service is superb and he gets your work done FAST! You won't need to wait around for endless weeks to see results. Most importantly he works on the site as if it's his own, thus you are assured that you will get the best quality service. I now give Andrew all of my new and old sites to work on. Trust me; you cannot go wrong with this gentleman!
Andrew is highly knowledgeable about blogs and very customer service focused. I knew nothing about blogs and Andrew was very kind, patient, pleasant to work with, receptive and responsive. Work was delivered in timely manner and if I need anything done for blog again I would use Andrew. If you are looking for quality work, excellent customer service and someone that really gets YOU and your needs, I recommend Andrew!.
I've spent insane amounts of money in the past with former webmasters until I discovered Andrew Rondeau.
Andrew is an asset to our ongoing website and social media needs. He responds quickly, accurately, and cost effectively. Andrew plays a consultative role in many aspects to our online needs.
I approached Andrew in February 2010, because I needed to enhance the way I communicated my business.
Without Andrew, I wouldn't even have a blog -- I would still just be sitting here, staring at my computer, feeling confused and helpless. With Andrew, I no longer fear confusion and it's impossible to feel helpless. He exerts any and all necessary efforts to resolve any problem or perplexity -- quickly, kindly, intelligently, up to and including IM exchanges in real time via skype. I would urge anyone at any level of expertise (or not) to make the most of his extraordinary talent.
The best blog builder, and the best blog maintenance, I've ever met is Andrew Rondeau. This fellow is an authentic professional in every sense of the word. He's lightning fast, knowledgeable, competent, a skilled listener. He goes the extra mile. He's able to share his passion for his work and products without being pushy. He as other great internet skills, too, but his most impressive attribute is mastery of website building.
I first connected with Andrew in early 2010 as I was looking to start a blog. I didn't do anything straight away as I could not decide what subject to write about. Every so often I contacted him with ideas and found him very honest and helpful. He gave me some great advice and I found him very inspiring because he makes you sit down and think about what it is you really want to do and whether it can work for you online. He gives you all the time you need and you never feel you are taking up too much of his time.
Andrew was kind enough to offer up his own time as part of an initiative to make the world a better place, and I was one of the beneficiaries of that effort. He spent an hour with me working on improving my bounce rate; he suggested several helpful strategies. Most importantly, he helped me with some key processes to help speed up my site, which had bogged down considerably with overuse of graphics. Andrew helped me get set up with Rackspace, which helped so much. From a load time of almost 30 seconds, the site sped up to about a 6 second load. Thanks so much, Andrew!
Hi, Andrew Rondeau here and this blog, my blog, will not lie to you. I will give it to you straight. This blog is about blogging, the Internet and sharing my experiences and advice on
Andrew, this is great advice. Like most people, I have a lot of how-to books on my shelves and in my computer. We all have more advice than we can act on, and it can be overwhelming.
I like your approach of create a simple plan and then implement it.
On a related subject, there are also times we need to engage in “creative destruction,” meaning realizing that certain plans or projects are not giving us the expected result and we need to kill them now so we can use our time and resources in more productive ways.

John,
I am guilty of staying with some of my blogs which don;t give much of a return.
But for some reason I try and keep them going thinking one day…
Perhaps now is the time to ‘let go’!

I also really like Tony Robbins take on “taking action.” He says that taking action without that feeling of certainty or strong belief that you can actually spiral down into a terrible place of doubt.
You can take all the action in the world but you can have at least two problems:
1. You are heading the wrong direction. Wrong actions. (Like you said.)
2. You don’t believe in your actions. You don’t have certainty in what you are doing. There is no power behind what you are doing.

That is a great point.
I believe they go together.
You may have great certainty but still take the wrong action and like you say…you must have certainly in your actions.
Get’s a little confusing but I think you know what I mean!

A couple of weeks ago I was floored by daft things that happened, and then found I couldn’t take action at all. I did all the things I thought to try and get me back in the groove, but it was the wrong kind of action for that time.
It is so simple, yet often we’re blind to it.

I so agree with your staements Andrew. It is all about taking the right action. I know in the past I have had good intentions, taken some action then stopped. Now I am taking the right action and moving my blog and my business forward. Lots of blips along the way but with determination and perseverance starting to see the rewards. Being part of a great blogging community and just opening my etsy store to my readers to showcase sourced products. Dreams do come tree
Thanks for sharing.

I really agree with your point here Andrew. Doing it the wrong way will really push you behind. It’s important to know the proper way and taking action of it.
Very interesting topic to talk about , i agree with the fact we need to take right actions , i believe in wisdom and intelligence in every single step and decision we take and that matter cause being successful need “some” serious work :=

Mistakes are good…as long as you change your approach and actions.

Simple is definitely best but alas, it seems like lots of folks just want the silver bullet of a bazillion returns with *no* action.
Checks and balances and being to see where you are at all times – it’s a wise move. Takes lots of time, mind you, but it can be the difference between awesome success and dismal failure.

Well said, Andrew. I’ve been guilty of taking the wrong actions before, mainly because I didn’t know any better at the time. This is where it helps to learn from the right people so that any actions you take from there forward are the right ones and you don’t end up wasting your time and taking you further from your goals.
