If you’re in need of fresh new content for your blog, then there are a number of strategies that you can use in order to get it. Just sitting down and writing might not be the best idea because you can quickly find yourself running out of things to say, especially if you don’t have something in particular to write about.
Here are some great tips that will help keep your blog content fresh:
1. Take one topic idea then brainstorm it.
Perhaps one of the easiest ways to come up with new blog content is to revisit some of the old posts that you have created in order to see if there are any related topics that you can discuss. You might find numerous things to write about when you brainstorm the ideas that you previously researched and discussed. In many cases you will discover new and exciting things to write about just by briefly brainstorming a previous post that you created.
2. Update previous posts.
Another way that you can create fresh content for your blog is by revisiting old posts and making updates where necessary. You might find information that is out of date or incorrect when you re-visit past posts. This gives you the opportunity to update the information that is there and give your posts a fresh new look that your visitors and search engines will greatly appreciate.
3. Ask your readers to submit questions.
Another effective strategy for getting fresh new content to your blog or website involves asking your readers or visitors to submit questions of their own. By allowing them to do so you are gathering topics that you may or may not have thought about discussing. Chances are your readers or visitors will submit some unique questions that you can answer which will end up as great new content that you can add to your blog.
4. Allow guest posts.
You might also turn to others for help when you need fresh new content for your blog. If you allow guests to post on your blog, then they might have some of their own unique and interesting content to add. Writing everything on your own all of the time can become tiresome, which might not result in the best quality material for your blog. Allowing guests to post on your blog simply creates the opportunity of having new content created for your blog that you might not have written on your own.
5. Hire writers.
If you no longer have the desire to write the material for yourself, or simply don’t have time to write new content for your blog because you are too busy participating in other internet marketing activities, then you might consider hiring writers to create the new content for you. Hiring writers to create new blog content instead of doing it yourself gives you the opportunity to focus your efforts on other more important activities all while still posting great content to your blog.

The end result is a fantastic site that is attracting a lot more attention and visitors than my old one.
Andrew has extensive knowledge about internet marketing, SEO and building web sites/blogs. His course explained everything in an easy to understand way and I now have a web site that is generating me new clients and producing income from internet product sales.
Andrew is highly knowledgeable about blogs and very customer service focused. I knew nothing about blogs and Andrew was very kind, patient, pleasant to work with, receptive and responsive. Work was delivered in timely manner and if I need anything done for blog again I would use Andrew. If you are looking for quality work, excellent customer service and someone that really gets YOU and your needs, I recommend Andrew!.
I approached Andrew in February 2010, because I needed to enhance the way I communicated my business.
Andrew is the real deal and he knows his stuff! His customer service is superb and he gets your work done FAST! You won't need to wait around for endless weeks to see results. Most importantly he works on the site as if it's his own, thus you are assured that you will get the best quality service. I now give Andrew all of my new and old sites to work on. Trust me; you cannot go wrong with this gentleman!
Thank you Andrew for your patience in getting my website and on-line courses on-line and selling. You were fantastic in learning the delivery platform software that I had chosen and you were across the complexities quickly. Your detailed approach in setting guidelines and deliverables bought my focus back to where it should be and got the job done. Thank you for all your efforts it was a pleasure.
Andrew is highly knowledgeable about blogs, and you can get your blog up and running successfully and fast. Andrew has helped me immeasurably with my blog and he is patient and good natured and a wonderful teacher.
Andrew was kind enough to offer up his own time as part of an initiative to make the world a better place, and I was one of the beneficiaries of that effort. He spent an hour with me working on improving my bounce rate; he suggested several helpful strategies. Most importantly, he helped me with some key processes to help speed up my site, which had bogged down considerably with overuse of graphics. Andrew helped me get set up with Rackspace, which helped so much. From a load time of almost 30 seconds, the site sped up to about a 6 second load. Thanks so much, Andrew!
I happened to stumble upon Andrew's website (WeBuildYourBlog.com) while searching for blogging services that would help me start my very own blog. I was a total newbie when it came to the blogging world. Fast forward 3 months and not only do I have my own awesome blog, but friends and family are actually asking me how to start their own blog and I am able to set their blogs up for them! In only 3 months under Andrew's guidance I went from total newbie to being sought after. Thanks Andrew!
I was introduced to Andrew by a dear friend Corinne Edwards and Andrew as transformed by blog in ways that have reaped results. My membership has gone up and my blog always looks clean and easy to read. Whenever I send Andrew a request to check out - it's ALWAYS prompt and easy to understand. In my humble opinion he is the BEST when it comes to knowledge of the blogging world.
I've spent insane amounts of money in the past with former webmasters until I discovered Andrew Rondeau.
I was impressed with the excellent service.
I am very happy to provide a testimonial for Andrew Rondeau. All the parts of the process of working with Andrew were a pleasure. He clarified what I was wanting and he delivered it without fuss. He was courteous and prompt in all his dealings with me. I have no hesitation in recommending Andrew to anyone who wants work done on their blog.
I have been online since 1996 and in that time I have been involved in the development of almost 400 web sites for my clients. I have worked with a wide variety of vendors and I have to tell you that Andrew @ We Build Your Blog has far exceeded my expectations. In addition to his vast knowledge and expertise, he is a genuinely great guy, who always goes the extra mile. I highly recommend him, in fact I only recommend him now for web development.
I wanted a stylish website that presented my original abstract art in a visually attractive way. Andrew came highly recommended to me as a "no nonsense" practitioner. He does exactly what he says he will do: I give him the parameters to work within and he provides a quick and precise service. You will receive nothing but the best from Andrew!
The best blog builder, and the best blog maintenance, I've ever met is Andrew Rondeau. This fellow is an authentic professional in every sense of the word. He's lightning fast, knowledgeable, competent, a skilled listener. He goes the extra mile. He's able to share his passion for his work and products without being pushy. He as other great internet skills, too, but his most impressive attribute is mastery of website building.
I first connected with Andrew in early 2010 as I was looking to start a blog. I didn't do anything straight away as I could not decide what subject to write about. Every so often I contacted him with ideas and found him very honest and helpful. He gave me some great advice and I found him very inspiring because he makes you sit down and think about what it is you really want to do and whether it can work for you online. He gives you all the time you need and you never feel you are taking up too much of his time.
Having worked with Andrew on and off over the last year, I have found him to be very patient, helpful and easy to work with. He is also very knowledgeable, supportive and a true expert.
Andrew is an asset to our ongoing website and social media needs. He responds quickly, accurately, and cost effectively. Andrew plays a consultative role in many aspects to our online needs.
Without Andrew, I wouldn't even have a blog -- I would still just be sitting here, staring at my computer, feeling confused and helpless. With Andrew, I no longer fear confusion and it's impossible to feel helpless. He exerts any and all necessary efforts to resolve any problem or perplexity -- quickly, kindly, intelligently, up to and including IM exchanges in real time via skype. I would urge anyone at any level of expertise (or not) to make the most of his extraordinary talent.
Hi, Andrew Rondeau here and this blog, my blog, will not lie to you. I will give it to you straight. This blog is about blogging, the Internet and sharing my experiences and advice on

I’m so glad that you mentioned updating old posts as a way to keep content fresh. Whenever I see a new comment on an old post, I usually see something that needs to be updated or changed. Plus, I love guest posts! I like having different voices on my blog.

I have read twice a week your blog to find out something new but this time i got one technique of blog marketing, I think writing content according to the reader’s question is one off the best option as result we can able to turn this reader into our customer.
The best ways to see that your posts dont die is to get guest blogging. But that unless your blog is a bit popular is not possible. Else try doing automation. There are many paid and free plugins for wordpress that takes content from rss feeds of the original blog.

Hi David,
Not a big fan of what you are suggesting and neither is Google, given their announcement last week to crack down on spammy blog content.

Also a great way to create new content is to visit related forums, where you don’t have to ask people question about what they want to read, you just have to look at the topic titles (also you can get inspired by what people are replying in their post).
An other great place to get ideas for fresh content is social networks. Where people are only talking about big news.

Good ideas – thanks for sharing.
There are no excuses for running out of ideas. As long as you add your own personal experiences, stories…make it a little different.

I like to keep my content fresh by carrying around a little note book. My best posts have always been the ones that I have thought up when I was not about to write a blog post. Sitting on the bus or sitting in a cafe or even just washing the dishes. My mind wanders and I come up with loads of ideas so will jot down a title and couple of pointers to remember till I next get to a computer.

This is an awesome suggestion! You often have great ideas when you are not in “work mode” and it’s important to try and record those moments of inspiration before their forgotten forever! Thanks for sharing this!

Some great advice there. One thing I find is that being passionate about the subject matter, or making it a part of your lifestyle, is a great way to keep the content fresh. My site is dedicated to collecting and using spent coffee grounds for gardening, and I’m in the garden all the time. So not too hard to keep the new ideas coming along all the time, and I would recommend this approach to everyone.

Hi Shane,
I agree, passion is important and I also think a blog should be personal to a certain degree. If you can live your passion, your blog content is going to be awesome!

Great tips!
I think that one of the good ways to create fresh content for your blog is find different perspectives to an existing topic. You might have a topic A, but when you combine that with topic B, you have a fresh perspective to that certain subject.
For example, you may be writing about productivity, but if you mix that with how bloggers can improve their productivity or how 9-5 workers can improve their productivity, you have two different topics written from different angles.

I have real issues with #5. If/When it comes time to hire out all the writing, you’re done as a blogger…or at least calling yourself one.

Dennis,
I think hiring writers for the odd blog post here and there is fine. As you say…just not all of them.

I have not tried #3- I have often asked readers’ questions but have not asked them to submit questions, which is a great idea! I agree with guest posting- not only does it provide fresh new content to your site but can in turn give you a break to think of fresh new material.

Hi David,
Great tips you’re sharing here. I need to start allowing guest posts on my blog. I’m definitely not keen on #5 – hiring writers. It’s not the best option for my blog.
Thanks for sharing your insights, David.

Hi David!
I definitely like #3! I recently read that the blog commenters are usually the vocal minority, and for the longest time it was only those who spoke up were heard and counted. Yesterday I came across another blog which mentioned posting surveys or personality quizzes that are relevant to your blog. That way you engage the silent readers (or tempt them to participate) in a fun, different way.
Have you had any experience with this one?

I’ve run numerous surveys and the feedback is often not what I expect. Therefore, I am pleased I ran the surveys in the first place.
I also run one for my subscribers. I like to know what they want me to write about.

Love it. Great ways to keep the blog fresh. I keep writing new content cause my blog is new but I definitely have some ideas for old posts.
I want to update them and republish them.

It isn’t very easy to make a fresh content daily for the fact that it is not also always that our brain is in good condition. I guess hiring a writer is the best option if you do not have any passion in writing. Updating your blogs is imperative and entertaining commenters is also important. I know a very good blogger and he would usually say that guest posting is effective.
Great post..Well your tips and strategies are very effective that help to keep your content more fresh and unique and in this way more users come to your site.
Hi David,
The ways you mentioned above are simple and easy to do! Allowing guest posts sure does work when it comes to having new content when you can’t find time to make one yourself.
Thanks for sharing!
