I don’t know exact numbers but some say there are more than 10 million users of the WordPress Blogging platform (and it grows by thousands everyday!).
And to make Blogging as easy as possible with WordPress there are thousand of different plugins that you can download for free and install.
Back in February I shard with you the Wordpress plugins I use on this blog (click here: Which plugins do you use?).
Well since then I’ve added a few more and I wanted to share them with you so you can benefit and make your Blogging experience even better.
I’ve added a short description on each to explain their benefits and you can click on each plugin to go straight to the download page.
I hope this post helps you and let me know of the plugins, you use.
Comments are a wonderful thing to receive on your blog, with AJAX CommentLuv for Wordpress you can give something back to your community straight away by including a titled link for their last blog post on the end of their comment. The plugin fetches the feed of the commenter while they type their comment and extracts the last blog post title with link and displays it below the comment form. When they submit their comment, the last blog post link gets added on the end of their comment for all to see!
Why not add a comment and see?
Do you know your WordPress blog pings unnecessarily every time you edit a post? Think how many times you click on “Save and Continue Editing” or “Save” button. Your blog will ping unnecessarily every time you click on those buttons.
Save your blog from getting tagged as ping spammer by installing this plugin.
Pop-ups, pop-overs and pop-unders are all seen as obtrusive advertising that interferes with the user experience of your blog.
I removed all of mine recently!
So, enter “Stripe Ads”, a new non-obtrusive way of displaying a single line of advertising message, a special note or other information right at the top of your blog.

I use several of these. After a recent hack I had to delete all my plugins and start over. I dumped the nonessential ones and I must say, my blog loads a lot faster. So there is a trade off and it\’s good to choose carefully.

@Stas. I do use it. You need to do all sorts of ‘manual’ things to optimize your wordpress blog for the search engines. This free seo plugin steps you through the process. It is definitely worth installing.

Other than CommentLuv and Stripe ads I use all the plugis mentioned above I use DISQUS as my comment management system and although I added it recently it has some cool features

I put a blog together some months back and used your list of plugins to set it up. Your information was truly a great help. Great list of plugins! What plugin did you use for your Tag Cloud? I really like the way it rotates with a little cursor manipulation! I would really like to have that on my blog for the “fidgety” reader.
