Video Blog Posts Transcribed

web video iconI like creating video blog posts and since creating this blog I have made quite a few.

Check out my video blog posts page for a complete list.

To create them takes a little extra effort but it is enjoyable and worth it.

  1. You create the video
  2. You edit the video to your liking
  3. You might add some titles and music
  4. You upload to Youtube
  5. You create your blog post
  6. Done!

However, I was missing one thing – the transcript.

I received several emails from my blog visitors who said they couldn’t watch the videos due to slow internet connection and could I add the transcripts.

So, I have started having the videos transcribed and the first 2 have been updated.

A little used technique to bring more traffic – blog carnivals:

As you hopefully understand, the transcriptions are a copy of the videos and they were not originally completed in a written format. So they will sound like speaking rather than writing.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for sharing this. Posting videos on a blog is really appreciated. It’s much more better to watch the video rather than read a long post for me. Hope to see more of your valuable videos.

    Kind regards,

    Gary

  2. Wow, I dont know it is as easy as that, or the steps just to sound simple. The the transcript will be useful for people with low or dial up connection, thanks for sharing.

I have never created a video because I am very self conscious about showing my face to people. I don’t even like having my picture taken!

Well, how did you transcribe the videos Andy? I’ve tried transcribing our YouTube videos and it is a pain.

Awesome! Now all we need is both with the ability to download and the permission to share. ;)

While I may be a pain in the ass, it’s a win-win. lol

looks easy steps to me :) having the video transcribed is also great for on-page SEO purposes, they’d look more natural and might also be good in shooting targeted keywords. I’m still learning how to do this — the expert way — but I think I’ll first need a pro camera and a good concept for link baiting as well.
