My blog is still too new to not be really passionate but it is good to know these articles are there to read and avoid it when I am well down the track with my blogging business.
BTW Andrew, sourced some great local products for my site at a trade fair today so hopefully in the next month I will have a shopfront up and be selling as I keep getting asked by my readers when I will have products to buy.

      Re: shopfront!

Excellent news. You are progressing, so well.

The balance you have between blogging and building an on-line business is perfect.

Two very important words you mention in your comment:

          Learning

          Loving

          You need those to succeed.

I think it’s quite easy to be burn out, especially when you aren’t seeing any tangible results. In the beginning stages, it helps to focus on some metric you can really control such as the amount of comments you add to other blogs, or # of times you mention your blog in a forum.

    • Andrew October 3, 2010 at 2:35 pm #

      Henway,

You are right, especially if the tangible results you are after is income!

Thanks for the articles, I’ve also found that the best way to get back on track from blogging burn out is to draw information from what others have written. And avoid an attitude saying that you will always fail and not end up anywhere. Remain focused and devoted towards succeeding.

    Thanks for reading them all!

Recently I’ve got into a routine that I like.

I now post Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays plus a summary one at weekends.

I’m going to do this until Christmas and see how it affects my traffic etc.

In the New Year, I may increase or decrease the frequency…or even keep the same.

I have a lot of projects on at the moment so am really busy and I love it!

The burnout will come. The question: what do we do about it?

I try to have two or more blog posts written and ready to post, so I’m never forced to write if I don’t want to.

I also keep a list of blog post ideas, most of which I first dictate into the digital recorder that’s always with me. Right now there’s at least 100 ideas on the list. Don’t let ideas slip away — record them!

    • Andrew October 3, 2010 at 2:40 pm #

      John,

I’m normally at least one week ahead in blog posts.

I recently had 2 weeks off and went a bit made and had 6 weeks worth all scheduled.

I haven’t written a new blog post for weeks!

Love the idea about recoding blog post ideas.

Andrew, the recorder also gives me more peace of mind. If I’m out and about I dictate items for my to-do lists, and also any other important ideas or thoughts.

I’m not aware that there’s such a thing called as blogging burnout. Is this the term used whenever a blogger loses interest in blogging? Thank you for sharing articles about them. I think I already got the answer to my question after reading two of them (I liked the articles by Mizfit and Trish). 🙂
