To make a blog income and be a successful blogger I believe you have do 3 things each day:
1. Keep your blog up to date with blog posts and general maintenance
2. Market you blog via article marketing, blog commenting, social bookmarking, blog carnivals…
3. Creating your own products
Quite often you simply cannot do everything it takes to make that elusive blog income…along with relaxing, enjoying life and running a house.
Keeping blogs up to date on a regular basis is usually the last thing on a long list of priorities.
So you think…”I’ll outsource some tasks” and one of the things that can take a lot of time is the writing of blog posts.
Good writers are hard to find…great writers…even harder!
Since my last blogging colleague and writer decided to go to Vietnam, I’ve been looking to find someone I can trust to help me out with writing. I’ve tried many and well…let me say, “They just don’t come up to scratch”.
I know I could find one if I were willing to pay $50 to $100 a blog post but I cannot afford that…so I’ve not had much luck. I want to spend my blog income on enjoying myself…not on $100 blog posts.
Until…
…recently, I got back in contact with an old colleague of mine called Jen. We both worked for a large corporate company. I was the IT Manager and Jen was the Communications Manager.
Our relationship progressed like this:
Me: “Nice hair.”
Jen: “Thank you.”
…for about ten years.
Over the course of the time in the company, Jen’s hair went from long to short, brown to black to red. So, I always had a reason to say, ‘Nice Hair’.
Is This Fate?
She got in touch on Facebook a couple of weeks ago, and added me as a friend, and we started talking. I told her about my blogging business, and she told me that she had also left the Corporate company and set up a company called Stilus.
Stilus writes for people. They do articles, web copy and newsletters…and blogging.
I asked Jen to write me a sample blog post.
She checked out my blogs…my writing style and did it.
I loved it.
Now Jen is coming on board as a regular writer for me.
She’s already started working with a couple of my contacts, and is doing a great job.
I’ve helped Jen out with optimising her blog, as she wasn’t getting many visitors. Already, she’s started to see an improvement in the number of readers and comments coming to her site.
Have you noticed how sometimes you come in to contact with people at just the right time?
I would never have imagined that Jen and I would be working together so many years after we first met.
Jen’s hair is a bit boring now (sorry Jen but I loved it when it was red), but at least her writing is still lively!
Why am I telling you this?
I know many of you would like to outsource some of your work. I know finding good writers you can trust is hard.
So this is simply a recommendation for a great writer who doesn’t charge $50+ per blog post (by the way she does charge more than $1).
If you want to free up some of your time, start prioritising your work to make a blog income by using a great writer and add some great content to your blog…let me know (you can write to me: Andrew (at) WeBuildYourBlog.com) and I’ll put you in touch with Jen.

Having worked with Andrew on and off over the last year, I have found him to be very patient, helpful and easy to work with. He is also very knowledgeable, supportive and a true expert.
Andrew is the real deal and he knows his stuff! His customer service is superb and he gets your work done FAST! You won't need to wait around for endless weeks to see results. Most importantly he works on the site as if it's his own, thus you are assured that you will get the best quality service. I now give Andrew all of my new and old sites to work on. Trust me; you cannot go wrong with this gentleman!
Andrew
is highly knowledgeable about blogs, and you can get your blog up and running
successfully and fast. Andrew has helped me immeasurably with
my blog and he is patient and good natured and a wonderful teacher.
I
approached Andrew in February 2010, because I needed to enhance the way I communicated
my business.
Andrew
has extensive knowledge about internet marketing, SEO and building web
sites/blogs. His course explained everything in an easy to understand
way and I now have a web site that is generating me new clients and
producing income from internet product sales.
I
was impressed with the excellent service.
I have been online since 1996 and in that time I have been involved in the development of almost 400 web sites for my clients. I have worked with a wide variety of vendors and I have to tell you that Andrew @ We Build Your Blog has far exceeded my expectations. In addition to his vast knowledge and expertise, he is a genuinely great guy, who always goes the extra mile. I highly recommend him, in fact I only recommend him now for web development.
I was introduced to Andrew by a dear friend Corinne Edwards and Andrew as transformed by blog in ways that have reaped results. My membership has gone up and my blog always looks clean and easy to read. Whenever I send Andrew a request to check out - it's ALWAYS prompt and easy to understand. In my humble opinion he is the BEST when it comes to knowledge of the blogging world.
I've spent insane amounts of money in the past with former webmasters until I discovered Andrew Rondeau.
Without Andrew, I wouldn't even have a blog -- I would still just be sitting here, staring at my computer, feeling confused and helpless. With Andrew, I no longer fear confusion and it's impossible to feel helpless. He exerts any and all necessary efforts to resolve any problem or perplexity -- quickly, kindly, intelligently, up to and including IM exchanges in real time via skype. I would urge anyone at any level of expertise (or not) to make the most of his extraordinary talent.
Andrew is an asset to our ongoing website and social media needs. He responds quickly, accurately, and cost effectively. Andrew plays a consultative role in many aspects to our online needs.
I
am very happy to provide a testimonial for Andrew Rondeau. All the parts of
the process of working with Andrew were a pleasure. He clarified what I was
wanting and he delivered it without fuss. He was courteous and prompt in all
his dealings with me. I have no hesitation in recommending Andrew to anyone
who wants work done on their blog.
I happened to stumble upon Andrew's website (WeBuildYourBlog.com) while searching for blogging services that would help me start my very own blog. I was a total newbie when it came to the blogging world. Fast forward 3 months and not only do I have my own awesome blog, but friends and family are actually asking me how to start their own blog and I am able to set their blogs up for them! In only 3 months under Andrew's guidance I went from total newbie to being sought after. Thanks Andrew!
Thank you Andrew for your patience in getting my website and on-line courses on-line and selling. You were fantastic in learning the delivery platform software that I had chosen and you were across the complexities quickly. Your detailed approach in setting guidelines and deliverables bought my focus back to where it should be and got the job done. Thank you for all your efforts it was a pleasure.
Andrew is highly knowledgeable about blogs and very customer service focused. I knew nothing about blogs and Andrew was very kind, patient, pleasant to work with, receptive and responsive. Work was delivered in timely manner and if I need anything done for blog again I would use Andrew. If you are looking for quality work, excellent customer service and someone that really gets YOU and your needs, I recommend Andrew!.
The
end result is a fantastic site that is attracting a lot more attention
and visitors than my old one.
I wanted a stylish website that presented my original abstract art in a visually attractive way. Andrew came highly recommended to me as a "no nonsense" practitioner. He does exactly what he says he will do: I give him the parameters to work within and he provides a quick and precise service. You will receive nothing but the best from Andrew!
Andrew was kind enough to offer up his own time as part of an initiative to make the world a better place, and I was one of the beneficiaries of that effort. He spent an hour with me working on improving my bounce rate; he suggested several helpful strategies. Most importantly, he helped me with some key processes to help speed up my site, which had bogged down considerably with overuse of graphics. Andrew helped me get set up with Rackspace, which helped so much. From a load time of almost 30 seconds, the site sped up to about a 6 second load. Thanks so much, Andrew!
The best blog builder, and the best blog maintenance, I've ever met is Andrew Rondeau. This fellow is an authentic professional in every sense of the word. He's lightning fast, knowledgeable, competent, a skilled listener. He goes the extra mile. He's able to share his passion for his work and products without being pushy. He as other great internet skills, too, but his most impressive attribute is mastery of website building.
Hi, Andrew Rondeau here and this blog, my blog, will not lie to you. I will give it to you straight. This blog is about blogging, the Internet and sharing my experiences and advice on

I have a friend with a similar company. She has written for me in the past, and now we trade services. I’m doing all my own writing at this point, but my husband and I both offer her company design services in exchange for the copy she’ll be writing for a couple projects we have in the works. Bartering is the way to go!!

I must say I enjoyed this post very much. “Nice hair?” Yeah, very casually written indeed but entertaining nonetheless. The title of the post itself is very catchy (since I myself get into situations where I have no time left to update my blog and who didn’t want a cheat?). I knew there was a pitch somewhere, and there it was… Jen. LOL! =D

Hi Andrew,
I came to Thank You for following me on Twitter,I’m glad I came.
Your advice on “ghost writers” is indeed a sensitive one.You wish to maintain control but good old Time raises his head once again
Your title “then cheat!” is great advice. How else do you maintain a connection with your readers?I feel that although Jen is about to write some of your blogs,it will still shine through when you write.I think it would be very difficult to completely match your style.
I visit many blogs on my travels.Yours is one of the few that I have come across that believes in writing every day.
Some of the more financially successful guys only seem to write “when I am launching a product”.I had to remind one Friend he hadn’t written for a month. He is very successful, concentrates on his own product.
I do not wish to give a vote either way,I think the answer is somewhere in the middle. You are a credit to writers with your tenacity.
Now wheres that stamp for my email?
Kind Regards
Ray

Ray,
Thanks for dropping by…it proves following people on Twitter does work.
Jen will write for me only sometimes – most posts will still be written by me.
It will be interesting to see if people know when it’s me writing or when it is ones of Jens!
I agree with you on the financially successful guys – well most of them. I only ever hear from them when they are promoting.
There is one guy who is not like that though – Daniel Scocco. He Manages http://www.dailyblogtips.com/ and is an awesome blogger and really nice guy – he has helped me loads.

That’s pretty cool how well that worked out for you and Jen. It’s definitely fate. LOL. I may be looking at outsourcing some of my writing later and may just hit you up for Jen’s info in the future as you are definitely right that it’s not always easy finding qualified and dependable people to outsource to.

Just like any business, if you’re going to succeed, you need to put in time and effort into what you do. Blogging is just like any other business. You need to give it ample attention and create a schedule of things that must be done.

You are right Dave and my veiw is if you find someone better than you at a particular task (and you can afford it)…then outsource.

NG,
Where to social bookmark really depends upon the niche you are in. StumbleUpon loves photos and images type blogs, Sphinn like internet marketing.
Re: Article Marketing. http://ezinearticles.com/ is a great one to go for…you may also want to find one specific for your niche as well.
HubPages are not classed as article directories…but you should still use them – start off with http://www.hubpages.com
I hope this helps.

Hi, I’m visiting via Facebook. I have been having the same problem. I do many contract jobs (marketing, paralegal, etc) from home as well as run a blog and finding the time necessary to write as much as needed is difficult. It would be so much better if I had help. Of course that costs more than I have and then of course we have the problem of boat loads of adults who can’t seem to spell one syllable connector words to save their lives. Ugh! Please e-mail me Jen’s info and I’ll see if together we can figure something out that can benefit us both. Thank you.
