How much traffic are you getting?
You want to increase the traffic to your website through your blog postings. In fact, you have spent a lot of effort in writing that terrific recent blog posting and the positive responses you have received from your regular readers have been ‘out of this world’.
But, that’s the problem…you have only received positive responses from your regular readers.
Don’t the millions and millions of others searching the Internet deserve to read your amazing blog posting?
Of course they do and you want them to see it, don’t you?
Well, that’s where Article Marketing comes in.
Article Marketing can greatly increase not only your personal presence on the Internet, but if done correctly it can improve your brand and add significant extra traffic to your website.
Unfortunately getting started with Article Marketing can feel tedious or overwhelming but the impact and benefits far outweighs the effort.
Over the years I have written hundreds of blog postings and by submitting them to Article Directories, it has generated TONS of consistent traffic for my websites.
Why Are Blog Postings Are So Effective?
First of all, let me explain why blog postings are so effective.
Why do most people go on-line?
It’s not to shop, it’s to look for information.
Although the amount of people who do go online to shop is growing, the vast majority go online to look for a solution to a problem.
They go to Google or some other search engine and type in whatever problem they have, for which they are looking for a solution. For example:
1 “How to clean the mould from the shower”
2 “How to replace the rubber inner ring in a washing machine”
These are two real examples I used recently!
The answer to 1, I found. The answer to number 2 was ‘get an expert in’. So I did!
So as I say, most people are looking for good quality content, which resolves their problem.
So by writing and submitting your blog postings to Article Directories, you are basically putting yourself out there as a trusted resource for quality content.
Remember quality content. People read your quality content, see your resource box (more of this later) and want to view your site. And that creates more traffic.
But, of course, the opposite is true. Bad quality content and no-one will come to your site.
Here’s the ‘big picture’ of Article Marketing:
Keywords
I mention this in several of my other blog postings. Your blog posting must include the most appropriate keyword phrases that relate to the niche you are writing about.
Backlinks
By adding your blog posting to the Article Directories you will create a backlink to your site and the more backlinks you have the better, especially from the Article Directories because the more commonly used ones have excellent Google Page Rankings.
Your Brand
By submitting to Article Directories, your name will be ‘out there’ on more Internet sites as an authority on whatever subject you are writing on.
Keywords, backlinks and your brand are important factors to remember when writing your blog post.
The Overall ‘Look and Feel’ Of your Blog Post
You want your blog posting to be 500 – 800 words. Any shorter and some Article Directories will not accept it. Any longer and the reader may get bored.
Use simple language, small paragraphs and sub-headings to break up the text whenever possible.
When your blog posting is submitted to Article Directories, it will allow people searching for information on the topic to find the information you are providing. If the readers like what they see and read, and are impressed with your level of expertise, they will follow your link back to your website for more information.
Not only is Article Marketing an excellent way to build traffic to your website, it also provides valuable backlinks to build page rank in search engines like Google and it builds your reputation as an authority on the subject you have written about.
In the next blog post in this series I shall share with you how to write blog postings that compel readers to take action.

Andrew was kind enough to offer up his own time as part of an initiative to make the world a better place, and I was one of the beneficiaries of that effort. He spent an hour with me working on improving my bounce rate; he suggested several helpful strategies. Most importantly, he helped me with some key processes to help speed up my site, which had bogged down considerably with overuse of graphics. Andrew helped me get set up with Rackspace, which helped so much. From a load time of almost 30 seconds, the site sped up to about a 6 second load. Thanks so much, Andrew!
Having worked with Andrew on and off over the last year, I have found him to be very patient, helpful and easy to work with. He is also very knowledgeable, supportive and a true expert.
Andrew
is highly knowledgeable about blogs, and you can get your blog up and running
successfully and fast. Andrew has helped me immeasurably with
my blog and he is patient and good natured and a wonderful teacher.
I wanted a stylish website that presented my original abstract art in a visually attractive way. Andrew came highly recommended to me as a "no nonsense" practitioner. He does exactly what he says he will do: I give him the parameters to work within and he provides a quick and precise service. You will receive nothing but the best from Andrew!
I have been online since 1996 and in that time I have been involved in the development of almost 400 web sites for my clients. I have worked with a wide variety of vendors and I have to tell you that Andrew @ We Build Your Blog has far exceeded my expectations. In addition to his vast knowledge and expertise, he is a genuinely great guy, who always goes the extra mile. I highly recommend him, in fact I only recommend him now for web development.
The
end result is a fantastic site that is attracting a lot more attention
and visitors than my old one.
I was introduced to Andrew by a dear friend Corinne Edwards and Andrew as transformed by blog in ways that have reaped results. My membership has gone up and my blog always looks clean and easy to read. Whenever I send Andrew a request to check out - it's ALWAYS prompt and easy to understand. In my humble opinion he is the BEST when it comes to knowledge of the blogging world.
Andrew
has extensive knowledge about internet marketing, SEO and building web
sites/blogs. His course explained everything in an easy to understand
way and I now have a web site that is generating me new clients and
producing income from internet product sales.
I
am very happy to provide a testimonial for Andrew Rondeau. All the parts of
the process of working with Andrew were a pleasure. He clarified what I was
wanting and he delivered it without fuss. He was courteous and prompt in all
his dealings with me. I have no hesitation in recommending Andrew to anyone
who wants work done on their blog.
I happened to stumble upon Andrew's website (WeBuildYourBlog.com) while searching for blogging services that would help me start my very own blog. I was a total newbie when it came to the blogging world. Fast forward 3 months and not only do I have my own awesome blog, but friends and family are actually asking me how to start their own blog and I am able to set their blogs up for them! In only 3 months under Andrew's guidance I went from total newbie to being sought after. Thanks Andrew!
Andrew is highly knowledgeable about blogs and very customer service focused. I knew nothing about blogs and Andrew was very kind, patient, pleasant to work with, receptive and responsive. I
was impressed with the excellent service.
I
approached Andrew in February 2010, because I needed to enhance the way I communicated
my business.
Without Andrew, I wouldn't even have a blog -- I would still just be sitting here, staring at my computer, feeling confused and helpless. With Andrew, I no longer fear confusion and it's impossible to feel helpless. He exerts any and all necessary efforts to resolve any problem or perplexity -- quickly, kindly, intelligently, up to and including IM exchanges in real time via skype. I would urge anyone at any level of expertise (or not) to make the most of his extraordinary talent.
Andrew is an asset to our ongoing website and social media needs. He responds quickly, accurately, and cost effectively. Andrew plays a consultative role in many aspects to our online needs.
Thank you Andrew for your patience in getting my website and on-line courses on-line and selling. I have heard about marketing articles, but are you saying a person should write a blog, then submit the same content as an article in article directories? Are you talking about Digg or Stumbleupon, or ezarticles.com & articlebase.com? I thought the latter directories don’t like to have duplicate content, so it was my understanding that it’s better to write a condensed version for your blog, then refer to the full version via a link. Do I understand this correctly? Thanks for the input! Love all the information you offer here.

Bonnie,
You can take your blog posts and submit a copy of it to article directories like ezarticles.com & articlebase.com. They only check that you are the original owner of the blog post, so duplicate content is not a problem.
Even better would be to take your blog posts, slightly re-write them (the header, first and last paragraphs at least) and then submit it to article directories like ezarticles.com & articlebase.com.
I hope that helps.
Andrew
Andrew,
I didn’t know I could do that. Thanks so much for the tip! That is great to know. I write a lot of how-to blogs, so I’m certain they would do well in article sites. I really appreciate the help! Hope you’re having a great week!
Take care,
Bonnie

Great post.. I agree completely that the best way is to post regularly. Not only will it grow subscribers, but Google loves recent content.
With the trend toward real-time or “near-time” searching, posting daily or multiple times daily will greatly increase exposure.

Great Post. I have 14 top article directory user accounts each with 0 submissions, to top that off I have a auto submitter software for when I’m ready to submit my articles and software to help me write them too.
The problem is I want to do it the right way, your post touched on some good points and I think it’s finally time for me to take the next step.
How do you put anchor text in the articles? or can you use html code? and how many links should be included and where should they be included?
Is is still viable to use article submissions with linkwheels or is that a bad idea?
Thanks a lot

Rob,
Re: Anchor text.
It depends on the article directory. Some allow them, some don’t.
It is a matter of trying and see if they are accepted and yes I use HTML to add the text. At least add anchor text in your resource bio – that is normally allowed.
Re: Linkwheels. Do you mean using hub-pages? If so, I prefer to keep the hub-pages unique and don’t post the articles anywhere else.

I just want to emphasize that in order to increase your site traffic you have to focus not only on 1 method but as much as possible, it should be a variety of methods. You could submit articles to directory sites and at the same time comment on blogs and guest blogging.
