One can really earn money through blogging; it’s either through selling products of other people, also known as affiliate marketing, or selling your very own product/service. Either way, there are various Ecommerce plugins available that can make it easier for you to sell your stuff online.
I personally use the WordPress eStore plugin and it works really well. It does take a bit of getting used to and set up, but the support from the owner has been excellent.
Here are some links that I have collated that can tell you the best Ecommerce solutions around.

That is a great list you have taken the trouble to compile. I too only use wordpress as a platform and am looking forward to researching these plugins for my sites

Hi,
The list you have provided is no doubt very helpful for all those people who are working on wordpress and all these plug ins are very important to use for e-commerce web sites.

Well wordpress is great for blogging, not so great for eCommerce, especially if you run a big store, the wp eCommerce plugin is only meant for small inventory, mostly to lay on top of the blog, not the vise versa usual case, where you have a store as first priority, and a blog as a secondary priority. I have done few works with wp eCommerce and they are not so full featured and secure, as you will get with a real eCommerce script, such Magento, OSCommerce, or prestashop.

Robert,
I cannot talk about Magento, OSCommerce, or prestashop, as I have never used them…but I would imagine if you were doing a full eCommerce site you wouldn’t use WordPress.
