I’ve been working on my on-line business from home now for 6 months and I love it. I love the freedom, challenge and the whole on-line information business.
I love coaching, helping, advising and creating information products best.
Perhaps it’s the ‘Management’ side of me coming out. Before starting my on-line business I was a Manager for 30 years managing big teams in big corporate companies.
Before that I was a petrol pump attendant. Remember the days when someone used to put your petrol in for you, check your oil levels and wash your windscreen. That was me!
Nowadays sharing my knowledge, doing interviews, producing videos, coaching and creating products is what I love to do and the beauty of the on-line, especially blogging business, is anyone can start with very little outlay.
To start blogging all you need is a domain name and hosting from some supplier like HostGator which costs $4.95 a month. That’s it. You can start blogging!
After a while you may wish to invest in a premium theme but that can be a few months down the line.
HINT: Enter my contest and win a premium theme, click here: Free Thesis Theme (and other prizes) contest
Then you want to start thinking about creating your own information product. It’s quite easy to create.
You could write a 50 page report, interview an expert in your niche, or create a few videos. That may take a few days from start to finish but once it’s complete, that’s it.
You could get some fellow bloggers promoting it as affiliates and guess what?
You now have a product that you have created and you’ll get paid for it for the rest of your life.
I am making all this sound easy, aren’t I?
Well it is and it isn’t.
Parts of the process are much easier than others.
Getting a domain and hosting and setting up a blog is fairly easy. My free multi-media guide will show you every step of the way. It includes loads of screen images and videos. And numerous individuals who have never been on-line have done exactly what the report sets out to do: Build your own blog in 45 minutes.

I hate spam as much as you. I will never rent, sell or otherwise share your information with anyone! You can unsubscribe at any time.
Now where was I?
Oh yes, creating your first product can also be easy. Spend a few days finding out what people want in your niche and fill the gap. You can do that in a few days.
But it’s the income side that can be hard.
Selling your product is not as easy as some of the gurus and sales letters tell you.
You may have created the product once, but marketing the product never stops.
You can put a banner or text link, write a few reviews, and share some of your product for free – all on your own blog.
Depending upon how much traffic you get on your blog will determine how many times you sell your product.
Want a rough estimate of sales per visitor?
One sale per 1000 new visitors.
So if you are getting 100 new visitors a day to your blog, you’ll make a sale of your product every 10 days. I am assuming your first product will be in the low cost range of $5 – $50. So $50 every 10 days isn’t going to pay all the bills, is it?
You have to find others – affiliates – to sell for you. You have to create all the extra materials like flash banners and emails and that takes time and investment.
I’m not trying to put you off. As I said at the very beginning, I love this on-line business but it does take commitment. It does take persistence. It does take patience.
I suppose what I am saying is don’t be deceived by some of those sales letters and gurus out there.
The information business is an incredible business, but creating your product is only the beginning. Most of the hard work is creating the systems necessary to have the product selling for you every single day.

Thank you Andrew for your patience in getting my website and on-line courses on-line and selling. You were fantastic in learning the delivery platform software that I had chosen and you were across the complexities quickly. Your detailed approach in setting guidelines and deliverables bought my focus back to where it should be and got the job done. Thank you for all your efforts it was a pleasure.
I've spent insane amounts of money in the past with former webmasters until I discovered Andrew Rondeau.
I
am very happy to provide a testimonial for Andrew Rondeau. All the parts of
the process of working with Andrew were a pleasure. He clarified what I was
wanting and he delivered it without fuss. He was courteous and prompt in all
his dealings with me. I have no hesitation in recommending Andrew to anyone
who wants work done on their blog.
I
was impressed with the excellent service.
Andrew is the real deal and he knows his stuff! His customer service is superb and he gets your work done FAST! You won't need to wait around for endless weeks to see results. Most importantly he works on the site as if it's his own, thus you are assured that you will get the best quality service. I now give Andrew all of my new and old sites to work on. Trust me; you cannot go wrong with this gentleman!
The best blog builder, and the best blog maintenance, I've ever met is Andrew Rondeau. This fellow is an authentic professional in every sense of the word. He's lightning fast, knowledgeable, competent, a skilled listener. He goes the extra mile. He's able to share his passion for his work and products without being pushy. He as other great internet skills, too, but his most impressive attribute is mastery of website building.
Having worked with Andrew on and off over the last year, I have found him to be very patient, helpful and easy to work with. He is also very knowledgeable, supportive and a true expert.
Andrew is an asset to our ongoing website and social media needs. He responds quickly, accurately, and cost effectively. Andrew plays a consultative role in many aspects to our online needs.
I was introduced to Andrew by a dear friend Corinne Edwards and Andrew as transformed by blog in ways that have reaped results. My membership has gone up and my blog always looks clean and easy to read. Whenever I send Andrew a request to check out - it's ALWAYS prompt and easy to understand. In my humble opinion he is the BEST when it comes to knowledge of the blogging world.
Andrew
is highly knowledgeable about blogs, and you can get your blog up and running
successfully and fast. Andrew has helped me immeasurably with
my blog and he is patient and good natured and a wonderful teacher.
Without Andrew, I wouldn't even have a blog -- I would still just be sitting here, staring at my computer, feeling confused and helpless. With Andrew, I no longer fear confusion and it's impossible to feel helpless. He exerts any and all necessary efforts to resolve any problem or perplexity -- quickly, kindly, intelligently, up to and including IM exchanges in real time via skype. I would urge anyone at any level of expertise (or not) to make the most of his extraordinary talent.
Andrew
has extensive knowledge about internet marketing, SEO and building web
sites/blogs. His course explained everything in an easy to understand
way and I now have a web site that is generating me new clients and
producing income from internet product sales.
Andrew is highly knowledgeable about blogs and very customer service focused. I knew nothing about blogs and Andrew was very kind, patient, pleasant to work with, receptive and responsive. Work was delivered in timely manner and if I need anything done for blog again I would use Andrew. If you are looking for quality work, excellent customer service and someone that really gets YOU and your needs, I recommend Andrew!.
The
end result is a fantastic site that is attracting a lot more attention
and visitors than my old one.
I happened to stumble upon Andrew's website (WeBuildYourBlog.com) while searching for blogging services that would help me start my very own blog. I was a total newbie when it came to the blogging world. Fast forward 3 months and not only do I have my own awesome blog, but friends and family are actually asking me how to start their own blog and I am able to set their blogs up for them! In only 3 months under Andrew's guidance I went from total newbie to being sought after. Thanks Andrew!
Andrew was kind enough to offer up his own time as part of an initiative to make the world a better place, and I was one of the beneficiaries of that effort. He spent an hour with me working on improving my bounce rate; he suggested several helpful strategies. Most importantly, he helped me with some key processes to help speed up my site, which had bogged down considerably with overuse of graphics. Andrew helped me get set up with Rackspace, which helped so much. From a load time of almost 30 seconds, the site sped up to about a 6 second load. Thanks so much, Andrew!
I wanted a stylish website that presented my original abstract art in a visually attractive way. Andrew came highly recommended to me as a "no nonsense" practitioner. He does exactly what he says he will do: I give him the parameters to work within and he provides a quick and precise service. You will receive nothing but the best from Andrew!
I
approached Andrew in February 2010, because I needed to enhance the way I communicated
my business.
I have been online since 1996 and in that time I have been involved in the development of almost 400 web sites for my clients. I have worked with a wide variety of vendors and I have to tell you that Andrew @ We Build Your Blog has far exceeded my expectations. In addition to his vast knowledge and expertise, he is a genuinely great guy, who always goes the extra mile. I highly recommend him, in fact I only recommend him now for web development.
Hi, Andrew Rondeau here and this blog, my blog, will not lie to you. I will give it to you straight. This blog is about blogging, the Internet and sharing my experiences and advice on
What you say is totally true. It takes time to build products online. One thing those guru letters don’t tell you is that if you don’t love it, then you probably won’t do very well.
One thing they are right about is that it is easy. It is very easy to do this sort of work. When you are passionate about it, everything flows out of you, with a little bit of mentorship and guidance.
Awesome post!

Gerlaine,
You are right to mention passion. I have created a couple of blogs in the past on subjects that I know little about just to see if I could make some income from them. It was hard work. I didn’t particularly like the subjects and trying to write blog posts was just too much effort, so I gave them up.
Good comments – thanks.

“$50 every 10 days isn’t going to pay all the bills, is it?”
No, but multiply that by 10, 20, 30 products, and it soon stacks up.
By the way, your security code CAPTCHA is virtually unreadable.

Andy,
You are right about the $50 per product and having numerous products does produce a good income. It could take a lot of time to create such a number of products, though.
Thanks for letting me know about the Captcha security code. I have installed another plugin – hopefully that will be better.

[...] Andrew Rondeau posted about this too, recently. Check it out. His main point, which I agree with whole-heartedly, is that coming up with the idea is the easy part. What’s more difficult is putting the systems into place that will make your internet business model profitable. Share and Enjoy: [...]
Hi Andrew, good point regarding having systems in place. It’s easy to come up with a good idea, but usually much harder to commit to following through and making it work.
I wrote about your post in my blog, because I agree that the three virtues you mention – commitment, persistence, and patience are so central to success.
Thanks and keep up the great work!

That’s for mentioning on your blog – I appreciate that and glad you like the points mentioned.

Hi Andrew
I have started writing my e-book but have decided to also diversify so I don’t have all my lavenders in one basket so to speak
Until I have thousands of subscribers I realise just as you have rightly pointed out; that the amount of sales I could make would not be enough for a viable business.
However, as the targeted traffic goes up and I have other products also up on my site, I will continue to learn more marketing strategies and keep on keeping on with my blogging and business plan.

You have to start somewhere!
Start with one product…then add another and another and another. Very soon you’ll have a library of products.

Every time I hear to word “sell” the first word that comes to my head is “affiliates”. No matter what it is you are selling, turning to affiliates to sell it is always the right decision. You are right, almost everything else is easy except for the selling, but we don’t have to do that anymore.
