Hillary Thumbs UpSo what’s happened this week?

The ‘UP’ Times:

The Digital Archives Shop

For a while now, I’ve wanted a ‘shop’ on my Digital Archives blog. My professional business writer partner has written hundreds of great quality articles and we thought we would package them up and sell them for just $1 each.

So, over the past few weeks I’ve been doing a lot of research on shopping cart plugins and eventually I invested in the WordPress eStore plugin.

A great investment. Once set up, you can have your products and services for sale within minutes. If you are looking for shopping cart functionality on your blog, I can recommend, the WordPress eStore plugin.

And if you want content for your blog, have a look at our article packs. A maximum of only 10 packs will be sold and each article works out to cost only $1.

Here’s the link for the shop: TDA Shop

Autoresponders

I’ve started the process of moving my opt-in service to Aweber. I got fed up with too many emails not being delivered from my existing company.

I outsourced the set-up of my autoresponders and the coding in Aweber plus the changing of the HTML code for the actual opt-ins. It felt really good to hand over to someone else, a piece of work that would just take up too much of my time.

The first few ‘lists’ have now been transferred.

The issue I now face, though, is transferring the individuals who have already signed up with the ‘old’ service. I have to transfer them and get them to opt-in. I know I am going to lose quite a few off my list in transferring but I’m looking forward to being with just one service provider, Aweber.

Guest posts

As a result of the Problogger.com forum, I am building more and more blogging alliances and getting some of my articles posted as guest posts that are helping with traffic.

Traffic

Just a quick note to say, my traffic jumped by 20% this week, mainly due to the post, Are these the top 11 Premium WordPress Themes?

So I’m pretty pleased!

The “DOWN” Times:

A second week of no “downs”. Fingers crossed it continues!

I am going to have to look into that shopping cart wordpress plugin, as I will have things to sell on my blog in the near future.

I am already using Aweber and it is a wonderful service.

I have not yet dug through your digital archives as of yet, but I will soon be looking into that. I am going to hire myself a few young personal assistants to get some work done on my blog as well.

I love those premium themes you posted, by the way, and I am thinking of using one on a new blog. :)

Gerlaine, I played around with several shopping carts and this was the best one and the support I received was excellent.

However, one thing I will add is it is very function rich, you can do so much with it and, therefore, it can take a little while to master. It’s not a 5 minute job. But once you have set up one product, more products to add are easy.

Re: premium themes. I can really recommomend the FLEXX theme, especially for the non-techical person. It’s so simple to change things around.
