I have learned that if you set your business up correctly, then selling to them through the email is not going to turn to some bad venture. You don’t want every email turning into a sales pitch, but a constant flow of sales emails has never unsubscribed anyone on my lists.

I am giving away masses and masses of free content on my blogs. A few years back, I think a lot of people were disheveled by the constant sales email. Today people expect it. They know why you want them on your list.

And yes, do be careful what you market to them in those emails. Build major trust. I usually send out a few emails with blog type material first, mixed with a few free things. By the fourth email there is something that I recommend that they consider.

I heart Aweber, too!

Good advice, Gerlaine.

One thing to remember is when someone does unsubscribe – don’t take it personally!
